Cool dog! Plenty of potential. Congrats on the purchase!

Early Western R700 with steel dash and a single axle seems as a quite rare combo. At least for the East coast and it doesn't even worth to mention my neighbourhood.

A single axle is very common in Calif pulling double tankers and dump trlrs.

Brocky, it's an interesting fact. By my observations Western RS/RL700 with a single axle was as rare beast as I once was going to post a thread with a question of their very existance. But probably here on the forum we have more folks over East coast than the West so Western models were discussed less. On the other hand I remember relatively many Western RS600 showed out. And I belive no more than 2 or 3 pics of RS700 single axles were saved on my hard disk at all.

You probably mean bottom dump trailers.

You also see a lot of them hauling hay and in the ag sector not to mention LTL

I stand corrected on the bottom dump VS end dump trailers.. I also thought most of the hay haulers used cabovers to gain more trailer length as hay is a lighter cargo. I am an east coaster who has only run Calif occasionally!! And have not been out there in 11 years

It looks like “O & SONS”

the truck has been in Southern California for at least 25 years

the interior has had animals living inside so it will be gutted

i need to deal with the seized throttle pedal and brake pedal.

the clutch feels real stiff

The ignition switch is out and there are several air valves laying in the cab and one is missing

the instrument panel bezel is missing, the battery box covers are not on the truck

it will need a new drivers door

it has a NTC335, 13 speed, 4.10 gears and 24.5 wheels

Did 335s have an intercooler ?

A 350, great

I need more power so I am not climbing the passes in the slow lane.

I used to run with the military vehicle group but got kicked out because I drove to fast and all I did was fix everything so it was factory new so I could cruise at a comfortable speed.

at least the ATHS guys travel at 55+ in CA

If the throttle is anything like a B, you might be able to salvage it.  Remove pedal, some heat might break the pin loose?  If not drill it and replace pin?  Worth a shot if the pedal itself isn't worn paper thin and need replaced.

Watts has both pedal assemblies.
