super singles  and a 5th wheel that seems mounted more then usual 6in ahead of center. interesting to find out what it is (was) used for.

Hmm wonder if they pulled tankers with it at some point. I've seen alot of tanker yankers with a fifth wheel mounted like that.

is that a dummy rear axle? it looks like it is an air lift tag axle.

i wonder if that rig used to be a single axle and had the frame lengthened and a "tag" axle added.

when you are up to your armpits in alligators,

it is hard to remember you only came in to drain the swamp..

Holmes Transportation had this set-up on some of their R models. I think Roadway's White Road Bosses' had a single drive axle on a walking beam suspension.    .....Hippy

I've looked at this truck over and over. IDK if it came with a brown interior, but some Mack guy had something to do with it and somebody liked to paint.

Looks like the doors are faded at a different rate than other parts of the truck (like painted at a different time ??) The duct on the intake looks like maybe donated from a Cool Power and is painted red . Then there's the red fuel tanks....someone was better than just OK with painting, so brown interior isn't much of a stretch ......but then there's that brown wheel.....hmmm.   Interesting good looking B no matter .

Hippy, I think(???) Roadway had some Macks set up the same way?? With a 60/40 weight distribution on the front drive axle.. And an air bag over the drive pumpkin so the driver could increase the weight on it in low range only to get out of slick spots!!

Brocky
