how you pair it would greatly depend on how your going to use it. a show / play truck not as important. a daily used work truck needs to be much more specific. work truck the trans need to be compatible. can't have a wide range main coupled to a totally different aux. I found that out yrs ago making a "gotta have it tomorrow" duplex out of two different ratio mack 10 speeds

 Be wonderful if everything worked that easy most Mack transmissions are what they call married boxes as in pick up truck transmissions with a transfer case on the back kind of hard to  answer your question you’re not giving us many details ha ha

Pretty much what he said, it really depends on what your plans are for said hot rod 

There's a huge difference between working something out on paper and going "it'll work" and the truck having any degree of drivability about
