Skydawg, The day cab is a 1953, RDFC-405. It had a tandem from the factory but previous owner made it a single axle. The day cab is rarer than the sleeper cab or at least you don't see or hear of as many. I've only seen pictures of one or two others in running condition. In 1956, IH changed the design of the truck and lowered the cab by tilting the engine. I've seen pictures of more of them. The sleeper cab is in greater demand.

What years were the Sightliners made?

Didn't they come out in '57 or thereabouts?

Yes,I had a local wrecker service transport it from WV to their storage yard, then  I picked it up from there.

A 50 ton RGN trailer won’t make the turn into my driveway and there isn’t a place close to unload and drive it to the property.

Plus the B-815 needed a little workout
