All good. But now i have to ask..... Im guessing you either ran the valves using an overlap method, or you were up on #6, but started adjusting on #1?? Or mabey you rotated the engine the wrong way.... Or.. you didnt adjusted the front valves to .024" and the rear valves to .016" ok Your turn... 🤔🍻

I at first I adjusted the valves the way I adjust a farm tractors valves, that was a mistake. When I first opened the valve covers and looked at the exhaust rockers, holy cow the gap was like a quarter of an inch and I thought what moron adjusted these things. I couldn’t find any markings on the balancer or the flywheel and nobody around to help me find them, so I did the best I could and was confident in my abilities to adjust valves. This was the worst valve adjusting disaster of my life and I think I ran the overhead like 6 times before I was able to get about half the valves right. By the time I was able to get a friend to help me find the marks on the fly wheel, I was seriously questioning my abilities and looking for some happy meds. I still did it wrong after I found the marks on the fly wheel because of the way the numbers are stamped “1&6” “2&5” “3&4” I assumed that meant adjust the valves on 1&6 at the same time, nope that is not what it means. Adjust 1 then do the first number on the second set of numbers then the third set of numbers then you start on the second set of numbers after a complete revolution and adjust 6, then 5, then 4 but follow the numbers on the flywheel. I am seriously surprised I didn’t screw something up, it was bad!

Firing order is: Too Young,,, Too Old,,, Just Right,,,   1-5 3-6 2-4... If you adjusted 6,5,4.  Its still wrong. But i respect all the effort you are applying to this.  I bet the numbers on the flywheel were hard to find..  Jojo

I scrubbed that flywheel to find those numbers, and I did the adjustment just like you stated, 1-5, 3-6, 2-4 the truck runs good now. For the most part this has been a fun project, most of the parts have been purchased from used salvage yards and the rest from online suppliers. The next major challenge will be the engine brakes.

I have an update.

Today I went in and had the horsepower increased from 355/380 to 380/410 hp on my 2002 Mach CH613. I figured it would at the least take half a day to do this but the dealer got me right in and they were done with the truck in about 45 minutes and I was out the door with the bill paid in an hour and 15 minutes. The tech said that I probably would not notice anything special as far as super performance and to temper my expectations. It’s a truck not a race car “copy” I understand that but I find this kind of stuff interesting so let me recap as to what has happened so far.

1. Installed a boost gauge to keep track of changes.

2. Stock Maxicruse 355/380 boost 25psi max unloaded

3. Installed 900cc injectors 355/380 32 psi max unloaded 

4. Increase horsepower program to 380/410 w/ 900cc injectors 35psi boost max unloaded.

I will take the truck on an equipment run next week and let you know how it goes.
