I picked un a '97 CH613 with a E7-350 awhile back, mainly because it was cheap (bank repo). I've slowly been fixing it up with plans to just use it as a farm truck or sell it. Well one of the main trucks I use in my business took a dump ('95 FL with 3406c). The engine has went down and is probably going to be down a month or more. I'm thinking about tagging the CH, putting a wet kit on it, and using it until the FL gets repaired.

My only concern is power. We commonly gross 80-90k, how does the E7-350 compare to the 3406c? I'm not one of those people that has to beat everybody up the hill, but would like not to have to drop to the low side to get over a hill.

Had the same truck with the 9 speed.  Went real well.  More power than the old 350s.   We pulled 100,000 lbs with it and highway was no problem.  Did 75mph so was geared pretty high.   I wouldn't be scared to use it on anything you use.  Our 140,000 lb super b's we used the 427s on but some people used the 350's.  too much for them in my opinion.

I've been debating on buying the Blixxton tuner for it, but I guess I'll wait and see how it does. I've got to get a wet kit on it first, as all of our trailers require hydraulics.
