It’s right on a main highway. I used to pass it all the time going to LA drove by it for 12 years and the guy was a little off and was looking at us really weird because we did not stop at the office first we went over and looked at it first and he said why didn’t you come in the office first I said I was just excited to go look it over and see what kind of shape it was in after we drove home changed my mind about the sale he moves the truck behind the fence so you can’t see it from the road anymore, I think he thought I was gonna drive back and steal it

So thanks for the suggestions, fellas but between the long ride down there and back and it still needs  work it’s not perfect . Just as well struggle with one It’s just a matter of a lot of time which I don’t really mind.  as I mentioned before  a very well planned challenge just very time-consuming, not costing me anything at all , just labor but yes, I definitely should’ve bought it at the time and took it home if I would’ve known what I know now  hahaha sometimes life  is weird..

Once I get that left corner squared away that’s the worst part Got a couple of honeydews today gotta finish my yardwork. I might go mess around with it a little bit a little later as I mentioned I’ll probably gonna cut the panel right out the headlights and reset it in there

Yes, for one thing it’s the right level right where it is I’ll save the last area right where the hinge bolts go for last repair then I will pull it off to repair the underneath section that goes. I’m going to paint the outside and the underneath I’m not going to be that fussy with the underneath section. Just basically make sure I get all the oil and grease removed so that paint sticks. I’ll have to get a friend of mine over here to give me a hand, when the time comes I’ve done so much yardwork around here the past couple of days I’m sitting here drinking coffee, thinking I might spend most of the day in front of the TV

As I mentioned, they must’ve had some real crummy drivers in this thing through the years. I’ve never seen a dump truck get beat up so bad but usually back into shit. If nothing else I don’t know what they could’ve been running into so many times to destroy the nose, the way it is, wow wow wow ha ha

you know i would give it another shot,,,,because im sure its still there but driving 600 miles round trip doesn't excite me,,,,thanks for your input paul   i just wish i would have grabbed it now when i was down there ,,and yes off set cab bonnets out here are extinct  ,bob

I think someone mentioned that (lol)   do a couple layers on the outside, then smooth out the back and start laying it on to give it some strenght.  Remember , air bubbles are not your friend.

Yes, thanks I’m sure I’ll wind up reworking the same area at least twice. I was just out there looking at all that needs to be done. Next…  first layer didn’t freeze up as straight as I would’ve hoped but I had a start somewhere. My goal is to do as much fiberglass as humanly possible without using a whole Lotta bondo

Do you make the patch thicker than the original piece to add more strength

Paul
