not yet. but the boss is looking at them as the 2000 W900 is getting tired.

i am sure once he sees the price he will just repower the W900 though

when you are up to your armpits in alligators,

it is hard to remember you only came in to drain the swamp..

35 years ago you could have bought a real Mack like a DM or an RD with 55 or 65,000 rears with an E6-300 and felt like you were a Real American doing things The American Way.

the last DM800 was produced in 1988, or 37 years ago.

while i agree with you on the RD, a lot of people still buy with their pocketbook in mind.

so the cheapest vehicle you can get away with is the way to go for their simple minds.

Acme Markets used to install a Pedigree and a brand new dressed out cab. Came out pretty nice. I think the Pedigree was about 6500 then. They did a bunch like that

i always thought the "michelin man" was a south american thing. almost any truck driven by a south american here in New Jersey had at least one on top of the cab.

Must be all over the world...

I think to capture the US market, being it's a high end truck it needs to be more 379 Pete, LTL Ford, Superliner, LT Mack looking. Real front bumper, lose that top bunk, and lose those fairings. Needs to be a bit more rugged looking. The way it is, it gives off curb sniffer vibes. No large fleet is going to buy a 770 HP truck to haul corn flakes and tampons.

What I dont get is the adoration of the Scania.Drove loads of them when I was on the road.I would describe them as average trucks...good enough but nothing special. The last driving job I was in we had 5 Hinos 1 Iveco 2 Volvos and 2 Scanias. The Volvos and Scanias fell apart the Iveco wasnt too bad but the Hinos were superb.By the time we finnished the fleet was all Hinos....If I was to pick a Europian truck now it would be the MAN TGX 480 Smooth reliaible economical and to my eyes look fantastic...JC is right no one would buy 770 HP unless the work needed it and the 770 Scanias are rare over here. Most Scanias are in the 4-500HP range.....anyway im going for more Turkey.....might need 770 to haul my butt around after Christmas🤣

No fighting between us over the trucks. It's the MAN all day long for me.To be honest Europian truck makers just cant make a truck with a hood. They start with a cabover cab and just add bits to try to make a hood. The result is the worst trucks you have ever seen...no style like a Mack Peterbilt or Kenworth.....some might like the Merc in JCs post but to me its a mess.....just my humble thoughts....

Yes but the cab is narrowed from the cabover design giving a proper matched up hood. The Europian truck makers dont change the cabover cab just stick bits on to try to make a matching hood but instead make a mess.I mean look at the Merc in JCs post......its a mess, something a child would make outta lego.....
