1994 Mack RD 800

I was browsing Facebook Marketplace and saw this behemoth. Certainly a very strangely specd heavy hauler in near perfect condition. It says it was originally  a NYC Department of Sanitation rig. Maybe @NycHeavyIron knows its history. No affiliation to the listing. Just posting here for others to see.

A real heavy hauler! alot of money, but probably not for one set up that way.   terry

unless the gearing was changed, those rigs only had a top speed of around 40 MPH.

they were used for hauling VERY HEAVY loads in the landfills themselves, and never saw use on public roads

Here are two pictures from the facebook listing for anyone who cant access the link. Someone really put in some time to bring it back from what it was. Certainly a unique rig. At least it was saved and not parted out or scrapped.
