813 and the square air filter should be a cummins engine rite ? it now has a mack engine in it

No an 813 is a turbo Thermodyne if I'm not mistaken.

Just wondering what that box is mounted to the dash to the left of the steering wheel if anybody knows.

That's the turn signal box. We had them instead of below the steering wheel on the  column.

it IS the turn signal box. apparently the original on dash bit the dust and an updated signal stat was installed. fortunately they left the dash box signal switch for someone wanting originality. my grandson sent me this ad also. seems it stated auto transmission.

push both buttons at same time gave you 4-way flashers. top button push released 4-ways. in front of top button was lighted indicators ==green left/right -red in middle.

Interesting, I had not run across that before. Motor coaches sometimes had "buttons" on the floor exactly like high beam/ low beam switch but one for left turn on for right.

Those twin-stick transmissions COULD be automatic.  I know because my Dad drove one.  He'd let off the throttle and I'd shift the transmission!  There you go...automatic!  Well, at least from his viewpoint!  LOL!

That's how I learned to shift one.  Probably started when I was 4 or 5.  Would give anything I have to re-live that right now...

Most any of the typical transit busses had floor mounted turn signals.  That way you could keep both hands on the wheels and you didn't have to worry if you turned them off.  This was back in the 70-80s.

Speaking of turn signals, my brand new Peterbilt has a sound effects built into the dashboard so you don’t keep leaving them on if I ever see it again it’s still in the shop for the fourth time
