Joe, think he wants to convert an AI motor back to etech.

Seems like a lot of work, whats wrong with your engine? If you're going to all the effort to pull the cam, wouldn't it be easier just to rebuild what you've already got?

I lean towards keeping it and E-Tech....  The cam and the cam key are different, no big deal,  the pushrods may all be 417 rods..  yes,,, the engine brake in the AI is much better than the Jacob's 690 set-up...   the lifters need to be steel,,  ( my opinion only) I dont like the ceramic ones..  Maybe you can post more details about the bad engine, and why its bad..  Pictures help a bunch too..   Jojo

The AI motors are also vmac III so I don't really see any reason you can't. Sounds like you more or less know the major differences between them. Years make a mild difference, early etechs had the EECU under the turbo. 2001 they moved it to the other side.
