are they held in with nutserts ? then yes. don't think by '88 they were mounted with machine screws/ bolts and nuts. problem would be if nutserts spin in sheet metal cab.

hell,, back a screw off, it it rises you have nut-serts, if it spins, go to another one to be sure it spins, then youll know its bolted and not nutserted...    Mech, is 'Nutserted' a word?? :)

NOW You are NOT putting a F-250 in same category as a Mack !!! 😂🤣🤣. couldn't help myself. try a hold down screw see what happens.

Uhhh   We did it again Mech,,,   You know.....  The Thing we do..  :)

Glad you found the humor in 'us' taking over your posting..  we tend to do that a lot here..  Got any cool pics of your 'R' ??

Wouldn't mind having that R In my driveway!

On an off topic note: I can't recall ever seeing an f250 with roof marker lights. I always associated marker lights as the mark of a one ton (at least in GM land)

back to original post; I'd say roof lights are held in with nutserts looking at pictures. question would be whether or not nutserts spin in cab sheet metal.

Mine weren't held in with a nutsert but are now

I would just try it, if the screw spins then cut it off and bung a nut sert in to attach the light

And use lots of never seize and some big long stainless screws and and the problem will be solved forever

I think Harbor Freight has a nut setting tool kit..  They are fairly easy to install.
