Thanks, I was on old Internationaltrucks.com, they have a lot of parts too. Never looked for gearshift knobs, but I don't particularly like the one that's on it.

My shift pattern is like this-

The seller said it had an overdrive transmission, but I don't think it is. I looked at brochures and spec. sheets for this particular model truck and it did not even list any overdrive transmission as an option. I know that doesn't mean it hasn't been swapped out sometime in the last 60 years, but I don't think it has.

Dash shift diagram say no, direct in 5th. Clark 5 speed I think. I had the same trans in a Fleetstar.

I finished putting the seat belts in today. They're just lap belts and they're not mounted exactly like they're supposed to be but they're probably better than nothing.

They're mounted safe and Secure that's all that matters!!

It is the little things like that, that take time, BUT make a show truck sparkle!!!

Yes sir, it's the little things like this that I don't mind doing, and like doing. The whole "truck runs and sounds great, I'd drive it anywhere" like I was told by the seller and found to be untrue, and taking a month to get it running, not so much.

Like Jeff said, "no wonder he wanted to deliver that truck- he didn't want you to call him when you were sitting on the side of the road somewhere trying to drive it home". I bet he was happy as could be that he managed to keep it running long enough to get it off the trailer.

We drove it around the block again yesterday.

Producer of poorly photo-chopped pictures since 1999.

got the same story years ago buying a  47 --45 model harley in a baskit engine was supposed to be rebuilt,,,when i got it together---oil rings were so worn out,,,engine was actually throwing oil out the tailpipe,,,,had to have it inspected by DMV officer,,,dont remember why,,,but i was embarrassed about this thing smoking and told him i was going to drive it home right way and pull it apart,,,bob

Yes, I can’t remember the model number but one of them is what they call a u model  there is two frames for the 45 one is two whee old  Frame mainly military that’s what I had and the other one is the three wheeler they used to use metermaids And yes, as you said, most of us have ugly stories.. bob
