Looks like tons of different spoke hubs are still available new from Gunite and Accuride. See link below. I just wonder if they are just being made for parts for existing applications or if they can be installed as new equipment on a 2024. I think new hubs have an exciter ring or something like that manufactured into them for the ABS and wheel speed sensors. I just wonder if any of the spoke hubs being made today are compatible with all that nonsense...

Product Search | Accuride (accuridecorp.com)

I ran into a few that were NLA (trailer spec) and ABS has been around for a long time, I had a trailer with ABS and spokes.

There are only a few different bearings/spindles in use today on drive axles. It only takes a little machining to accept a "tone ring" for ABS, so I would imagine all are machined to accept one even if it doesn't have one.

I've never seen spoke wheels on any truck that has entered our shop personally. I wouldn't doubt that it is an (expensive) option from the factory, but nearly everyone that orders new trucks around here are ordering for a fleet, or are keeping options cheap and easy to maintain.

Funny that, spokes used to be the "fleet option" back in the day. Most all the fleet trucks and trailers ran spoke, Disk were the O/O option because they were shiny.

Several of the companies I was leased to had spokes on their equipment up into the late 90's

If you get a chance ask the sales manager or a knowledgeable (might be a long shot lol) salesman at your dealership if he knows if you can order a new Mack with them.

i just like the look of spoke wheels..  Classic, and strong too..  i'm glad my 48' has them..

Me too, plus Iike the ease of tire changes, only 5 or 6 nuts and inner or outer can be changed.

One of my K's is on disk the other spoke, I don't think I'll change it out, but if someone really wanted disks and offered to swap spokes for disks, I likely would.

That’s kind of weird do you haven’t got an answer yet maybe you want to PM Barry. He could probably tell you. I certainly can’t help you much way out here. Don’t have a clue personally I guess it’s a matter of monkey see  monkey do these days OK? Well everybody’s using buds  now I might as well order them …

A long shot is exactly what it would be haha. There's really only one salesman I like here, the rest are either crooks or absolute mo-rons. I'll make a point to ask though! Was busy and didn't have a chance to go that route yet.

Be careful Heinz,,,  those salesmen might be on here..  of course you havent told us which city your in. 😉

Yeah no, I highly doubt it haha. I won't name any names to help protect my identity, because these guys definitely are the kind to make a mountain out of a molehill.

I sent one of the salesman an email asking about the spokes, let's see what the reply is.

We have our answer: NO.

What a shame. Looks like the one size fits all mantra manufacturers push has taken over Mack.

Customer: "I want a truck specd to my preferences for a specific application."

Mack: "There are no options anymore. Here is your 2024 Granite with an MP8 445C engine, Mdrive transmission, and hub pilot wheels. We will notify you when the first recall comes in."

I always went about it the long/cheap route. I bought a used truck and then outfitted to what I wanted, often with used parts.

I would imagine that as long as the parts are still available that route would still be an option.  IDK with air disks taking over how many spokes that can handle disk brakes, would be available? I know school bus chassies use them a lot, not sure on heavier trucks?

Which would be almost immediately. A new recall just dropped concerning the drag link possibly being defective, stating that the affected trucks need to be parked until repairs have been made... What repair you ask? Volvo doesn't even know! "Once we have an approved remedy (repair) another communication will be sent out.
