Was this a new or restored truck when it was a display truck at Mack? Has it ever worked or is it basically a new truck?

From what the owner told me, it was originally in use with a fuel company before it was likely wrecked in the early 80's. It was then bought privately, and as far as we know, never has seen revenue service since.
