Last time I had to go through to Salt Lake City I stopped at Wendover got Burger King over 10 bucks for a burger and a Coke worse slop I’ve ever had  in my life what a waste of money and we have no decent food and entire stretch 500 miles oh you’ve got is chain truckstops with kids. Food It’s nice to find a place like that for a sit down meal that actually goes in nice I guess that’s all these kids want these days as fast food we used to have a really reputable place but it’s also corporate America. And I heard their food is not good like it used to be so I didn’t have much choice but to settle for fast food. And wound Up with overpriced garbage.

4 corners casino wells Nevada I used to stop there all the time, but they tell me it’s gone to hell and the food is not as good as it used to be I don’t know I haven’t been in there, but this is what I hear. I know as soon as TA or Petro takes over. Usually the restaurant goes to shit.

Which side of the line was the Burger King? When I was there, the Nevada side had casinos and everything looked shiny and new but the Utah side looked pretty dismal.

That seafood looks good! I've never had or heard of clam strips but they sound good! I'm too far from the ocean to enjoy any of this stuff :( only fish I catch around here taste like muddy work boots.

Lots of Lambs quarters and other ditch weeds around here a trucker could boil up if they get hungry enough. They sure taste good to me!

Basically Clam Strips is clam cut into Strips,Breaded and Fried in a Fryer.

We did get to Sam the Clam's yesterday for whole belly clams, but we had to leave early because the three teenagers who were dog sitting let Roman bolt out of the door and disappear into the woods, no doubt looking for me. He hates to be left. So he's lost in the woods somewhere in Connecticut, where he doesn't know anybody. We looked and called from 7:30 until 10:30 when he came out of the woods and ran to Zina. I was out walking the streets and calling him, pretty much as lost as he was. The great thing was all the people, lots of people in that neighborhood, Zina's friends, animal control, everybody was looking for him.

The kid who let him get away felt terrible and needless to say I was highly pissed but I told him things happen, we're just thankful he found his way back and was safe and sound.

Oh I feel your pain trying to find a lost Dog My friend.. My Schzitu Milo took off one night on my wife....We were out all night looking and calling and for a Full day NO trace of him...Turned out he was caught on Camera down at our local Speedway around the BIG Trucks evidently looking for me....Buddy I couldn't hardly function that day on the road without my Buddy!! I about cried everything I got in and out of my Truck cause out off habit I'd Say " Stay Buddy Daddy'll be right back" or "Alright Buddy let Daddy In" oh the empty feeling of realizing "Oh that's right You ain't here" was terrible!! But thank God later that day My Parents swung by our house just to see of he might be there....And there he was sitting inside our Breezeway just waiting!!  Some people Don't understand but our animals are our family...and alot of times I prefer the company of animals to people!!

Absolutely! Glad you found him, I don't know what we would have done if we hadn't found Roman, or if something had happened to him. He's never spent a night outdoors in his life and he's not used to traffic at all. We have about 3 or four cars go by our house a day, and 2 of them are probably the same guy 🤣. It's a different world up here, I can't wait to leave.

I was delivering a cell tower in Or up near Crater Lake, but several miles up a one lane dirt track. There was a space we could turn around and they we take the tower the rest of the way up the Mt one piece at a time.

At times like that, I would put Jesse on a long lead tied to the trailer while we did the off load. When I got done, I noticed the long lead had parted. We were in bear country and likely cougar as well. I was calling and calling, and would have stayed the night or longer if that is what it took. what really concerned me was he was trialing 1/2 the rope and I could see it easly getting caught on something.

He came back with a big grin on his face, and a big grin on mine when I saw him!

Some of our City drivers tell me they have to back up into these places, sometimes a quarter of a mile way out in the nowhere like you said they have to come and get you got an even better story one of our guys used to deliver to the snow ski areas Mammoth Lakes and he was telling me it would be snowing so hard he would get stuck with a full set of chains owners of the ski Lodge would have to come down and get him with a D9 caterpillar chained up and pull him all the way up the rest of the way  Trailer full of  food and booze they would do anything they had to do to get them up in that door

I've been dragged in a few places but I put an end to it. Every time I ended up with damage, sometimes minor sometimes major.  If I can't make it in with 10 tractor tires and 4 trailer tires chained, you've got a problem, not me!

Yes, I don’t blame you when you’re delivering to ski lodges. You don’t really have much choice, but there’s only so much you can do. I have seen pay loaders and tractors myself coming out to meet these guys across 80. Different farms you can see them from the highway

In my view, you always have a choice, my truck, my income. I'll mark it "refused" and take it back at the shippers expense. If I were a company driver, I would call in and get the company to make the choice.

I once had a guy try and climb in my cab "to show me it could be done" after I refused. My dog was sitting in the drivers seat as he always does when I am out of the cab, they rancher didn't look when he reached for the door handle, Rory is a big Chow/Great Pyrenees mix and just looked down at him, I said "I wouldn't do that if I were you"! Rory would have just moved over and let him it, but his reaction was priceless! It save a physical confrontation from me, and I got unloaded and turned around where we sat!  At this point we were already 40 miles from where I was told it was to deliver, and I had the drives chained for those 40 miles.
