Popular Post Freightrain Posted October 21 Author Popular Post Share Posted October 21 Well, I really found my problem. Seems my cab mount bushings were shot. The lower halves were toast and that allowed the bolts to be loose. This allowed the cab to jump around on the frame. This allowing the throttle to be jerked around while driving. I bought some generic GM truck bushings and new bolts and got it all cinched down tight. The 4 hr trip Saturday to my last race was a much more pleasant trip. Much smoother feel since the cab wasn't jiggling around. The throttle is smooth, no more chop chop to it. Life is better. 4 Quote Larry 1959 B61 Liv'n Large...................... BOBWhite Posted October 21 Share Posted October 21 I would have never thought of cab mounts being the issue, I'll have to remember that. Freightrain Posted October 21 Author Share Posted October 21 I just happen to look under the front corner and saw the cab bolt and I grabbed it and it was loose. It was like"Bingo"! Since the throttle comes up through the floor, any time the cab was bouncing going down the road, it was wiggling the throttle even if you were holding the pedal steady.
