I used to find good deals mail ordering tires, but that seamed to go down the tubes, later. I mean, having them shipped to my door, for ridiculous low shipping prices. I think I stated previously that I was using slight better brands (Hankook, Kuhmo) that came out of SE Asia countries other than China.

With a Hobby truck, that is unlikely to "run the tread off" before age gets the better of the tire, I would at least look at what is available on line, shipped to your door. Price is likely going to be the deciding factor. No sense paying for a casing with good "retreadability" when the casing is going age out before the 1st tread is worn off.

I've seen 1st hand the bias ply tires handle age much better than radial ply tires do.  They do have their disadvantages especially in line-haul trucking, but for a hobby truck, I find them to last. I currently have a set of Kuhmo bias 8.25 x20's on my K-7 that are quite old but doing well.

yes, thanks for that. My company is paying between five and $700 each for brand new Michelin hobby truck for one thing I don’t know how long I’m gonna live. I understand double coin is very cheap. Not sure about holding up but I don’t think this thing will ever leave my town. Even brand new tires any brand any price are going to be a waste of money just to make this thing legal mainly what it’s all about

I was hoping to come across 10 used, but I suppose I would have to be the luckiest guy alive

I've bought used from Vanderhaag's and some new takes-offs. I only bought two when they had 5 and should have bought them all!.

If there is a big truck salvage yard, might be worth checking what they have.

Double coin is on the higher end of the cheap China tires, and I know many have had OK luck with them.

Buying 10 tires for a hobby truck is a hard nut to swallow, but if you can pick them up one or two at a time, on the cheap it goes down easier.

Pretty much my point in my age Miles traveled I will never get my moneys worth out of them and yes, we have a big rig wrecking yard around 45 miles from here, but you know most of those shit is gonna be tubeless bud wheels yes Geoff wife was telling me that I should’ve been doing it long time ago two at a time

I would feel better if I was 40 rather than 68 good thing it’s a twin  axle with no weight. I can legally drive around just six tires and forget about the other four for now. just take off bad  tires and leave the empty rims.

Think soon I’ll go talk to my companies tire supplier probably the best way  I could probably find something used just barely legal and get through the rest of my life my wife was crying and whining about the loot and yes, I am right there with her this time… You’re never gonna see that money back

I think I have mentioned this before, I can buy a tubeless rim and tyre for a spider hub, fitted for less than the cost of tyre, tube and rust band

For me it is a no brainer, I don't do a lot of miles so it's easier to justify

That’s kind of sort of  what I was hoping for since container chassis use the same size with the Spoke  wheels I might just get lucky….: It’s not so much the money I will never get the use out of them for what I have to put out…:: i’m sure I already made myself clear, bob

steers hold air then might just need 4 to put on rears so it's safer and moveable till rest of body work is almost done, will allow time to search for 8  drive tires .

That’s pretty much what I’m thinking

Bob, Ask at an oil/propane delivery company if they have any used almost out of date take offs. That's what we're running on the back of our MB.

Make it a yard ornament for rocks(since you don't have grass).  😆

Well, I have plenty of grass, but I do live in a hillbilly redneck area so it probably fit in but then again I live off the street so they only one that would see them is my wife that cries about everything I do I don’t think the tires would fly But thanks for that Larry
