Cruiseliner How many are still with us?

Hi all,My son and i have just bought a 1982 Cruiseliner and we got to thinking just how many are left? We believe ours is the only one here in Ireland and so far we only know of one in the UK and three on mainland Europe.We were wondering if there are more over here and how many are known to exist in the US and Australia or anywhere else in the World.We read somewhere that 15336 were made between 1975 and 1983.anyone have an idea???

There are still a few in Australia, not many working now though 

I think the survival rate here was petty good

All Australian ones had 4 headlights 

All NewZealand ones were like Australian ones but built in NZ

Thats a cool one in the picture Paul.Didnt know they had 4 headlights which looks great.ours has 4 headlights but 2 are sunk into the bumper.Were the NZ and Aussi onesshiped out in kits and assembled out there?

Australia and New Zealand build the trucks im their respective countries 

The Australian and NewZealand Macks are very different than the north American ones and New Zealand are fairly different than Australian

I guess our conditions in each part of the world vary greatly and even though the numbers of trucks sold in countries like Australia and New Zealand are tiny it is worth the effort to build them 

A lot of components are imported and a lot are made locally 

What percentage of each I don't know, but enough to be labeled as Australian made for Australian trucks

Thats a nice one Vlad.only know one in russia...we have something in common...same cab as ours what engine/gearbox is in it? Did you import it to russia yourself?

Hi Paul, 

The cab of my truck is a middle size option, with sleeper but of shorter style than it commonly was. Has a flat rear wall, no biased top portion. It was said (on here) that that's a rare style. 

The engine is as it seemed to me EM6-300 2V with a turbo and chassis mounted aftercooler. There's no tag on it and I haven't requested info from Mack Historical Museum, so not almost sure on the particular model. The tranny is a 5 speed T1078 so it's expected to be Maxidyne. There's a second transmission Spicer I guess which is mounted separately under the chassis and seems a factory option. 

No, I didn't import it myself. Importing a truck to Russia is about an impossible deal for nearly two last decades. The truck was used by a certain American company which was contracted to provide oilfield works in Russia. Than it was sold to a private person in early 2000's I guess who removed the equipment and installed a cargo bed and than sold to another private person whom I bought it from.

I don't know if it's fair to say "it's still with us" but Boeke & Son's Truck Sales cut this one to use as an eye catcher in front of their truck sales business. Still has engine, trans & driveshaft in it. The interior is rough. It's an eye catcher though.  Bob is a LONG time Mack guy. He was a mechanic with the area Mack dealership before he founded a trucking company and eventually grew into an independent truck sales dealer along with his boys.  I may or may not have drank a beer or two with him over the years...

Its eye catching ok.paint job is cool.id say its still with us ok because a new frame and axels and shes back on the road....nice one.

... And taking to account the rear portion of Cruiseliner frame rails is connected to the front with bolts that truck might be brang back on the road with no real drama.
