I also have quite the hoard of stuff like that, probably will never use a lot of it but it feels nice to have spares of everything. Nice win on the reduction starter, probably worth buying just for that. Been around a lot of 305s in vans and suburbans. Terrible experience with em in worn out vans but the 80s-90s Suburbans are pretty nice. With the 35 gallon tank and 15+ if you take it easy will give you a nice 500 mile range. Got the hood and bumper back on the other day when Timmy stopped by to help with them. I drove it around the loop the next morning, didn't see any leaks anywhere. Then yesterday morning I went out to move it and there was a big puddle of antifreeze in the floorboard, right underneath the heater. I'm not a mechanic or anything, but I figured it might be the heater core leaking because there was more antifreeze on the bottom of it. So I just disconnected it. Middle of the night, in the winter, near Buffalo, going down a highway at 55, a piston broke, spun around and punched through the oil pan. I was on a highway with four foot snow banks and nowhere to pull off, so I kept it running on seven for about a half mile to a parking lot. As I pulled in, it locked up and never turned over again. I have no clue, but tomorrow, I am going to seperate it and pull the intake to see what I have. either way, i'm good with it.. BTW,,, re-man 700R4's are going for $2,500.00 + ON THE WEB.. I'm not saying mine is worth that, but it is a running tranny.. so, at leaste I know I have a good unit.
