First post, thanks for having me here! I have a retired mountain plow truck RM4x4, that i turned into a clumsy daily driver for my mobile mechanic service. I really could use a manual or maybe some people know. What are the correct tire size front and rear for the 4x4s? Mine has 12R24.5 on the back 445/65R/22.5. Just to make sure it don’t blow up running gear. Does the transfer case need to be filled up to the upper drain hole? Seems like an excess amount of oil. Also What type? And finally, what’s this power terminal strip called? Both of mine have cracked to pieces, even with 35k miles on it. All I’ve found online are terminal strips that have a common power, and these are all individual.

PS anyone happen to have some fenders? I wont hold my breath.

are you asking about the terminal strips on the firewall by the steering column?  I have never worked on what you have..  just curious.

Tyre size depends on diff ratios front and back

I would imagine that they are the same

On Australian Army 6x6 R models the transfer case is two speed and is like open differential

They are full time 6x6 and have a diff lock in the transfer case

The front axle is a slightly different ratio to the bogies

I would think your transfer case will be the same

Terminal strips, I have never shopped for any but most are pretty stuffed as they are getting old now, maybe try Mack

Try this for a manual, it shoukd be for a Australian 6x6 wrecker

That might have plenty of information on diffs, transfer case etc

May be no help, But search Upstate New York truck salvage yards.  They might know of a township or county highway dept that would have manuals left on the shelf??? The Mack RM 4X4 was a very poplar double wing plow truck in the "Lake Effect" snow region east of Lake Ontario. Get out your Rand McNally atlas and you will see the area I am speaking of..

Thanks Paul! Would anybody happen to have the part number for the terminal strips? I will get the gear ratios, as i suspect that will affect tire size.

Aye Brocky Thank you. I will dig into this a bit, I didn’t know they were popular anywhere. Hard to find these nowadays.

Yes, they crack very easily. I ruined one with my head leaning against it working on the starter.

I assume you found the #'s ?

They are broken apart pretty bad, I’m procrastinating in taking apart the terminals as it’s still working. Might have to wait for winter weather.

RW-613/002217.. Use this VIN to get the terminal strips you need..

OK Heinz,,,, your up next :)

The terminal strips on the firewall (two parralel 14 pin stripes) are 71MR403P14 or 25496936.

They are (were?) avalible from Mack and not by PAI. PAI was offering shorter terminals from 71MR403P5 (5 pins) as MJB-4384 to 71MR403P13 (13 pins) as MJB4398. But no 14 pin.

71MR403P6 with 6 pins are used on the inside of R-model hood for connecting headlight harnesses. Those could be purchased from PAI as MJB4385.
