I called the local hydraulic shop and they don’t rebuild them.  It was pumping the oil into the crank case. My father’s rollback was doing the same thing. He bought a new pump for $1000 but thought it would be cheaper to have it rebuilt.

You know years ago I was just thinking I had forgot all about this. I had a 55 Chevy Belair with. Wore  out rear end yolk. Somebody sold me the sleeve that I was able to hammer on right over the damaged yolk machined fit I wonder if any of you fellas heard of those… bob

Bob just making sure you realize what I posted was about the steering box on your truck, I think that was what you were looking into fixing..  jojo

I like the way you think Mech..

seems todays " mechanic" will just replace a worn yoke . days gone by the speedi-sleeve saved an owner a lot of cash. don't know if the computers would be able to diagnose a leaking seal today. a good friend and owner operator had his KW upstate with a problem. took it to a dealer only to be told " we don't know the answer to your problem; hopefully you can make it back to CT. that's after 3 hrs of jerk around at $200.oo per.

Here I go again.... Mech, you talk about using a computer to diagnose issues.....   one of my co-workers rolled a laptop to a truck to diagnose why one of the headlights was out..  He did that first...  yes, I had to learn that these new turds have L.C.M.'s.... light control modules...  in his case it was a bad bulb...  I smacked my forehead and asked where the hell am I??
