We've been turning the heat on at night, and have the AC on by afternoon. Zina stays cold. We went to the vets office this morning and she was wearing a winter coat. I had on a short sleeve shirt and shorts. 🤣

Had our Harman PF100 on for a week, off the past two days. Started it up again last night. We have had a couple mornings of under 32* already. And the two inchs of snow on Mt. Washington to get the season started. Not bad up there now, 37.3* - 24* wind chill - 73 mph wind gust.  mountwashington.org  Check out the web cams! As of right now the summit is covered in fog so nothing on the cameras.     .....Hippy

That’s pretty much the way it has been around here

Flipped to furnace weeks ago.  I don't mess around once weather starts to turn.  I'm not going to be "cold".

I am always cold  Larry ….. wife is always burning up. I told her she’s just weird.

well, it’s time for winterguard  fertilizer and then I have to start picking up. The leaves bought a brand new blower gasoline powered kind of anxious to see what kind of a job will do. It’s gonna be a lot easier than trying to rake everything.

I have had the heat on for a few weeks now. But it is set at 65. We had a cold snap and it was dropping  into the 40's at night which in turn was dropping the house down around 60.

when you are up to your armpits in alligators,

it is hard to remember you only came in to drain the swamp..

I grew up near Buffalo, NY.  Haven't been cold since I moved to Atlanta in 1985.  If you added up all the snow we have had here since 1985, it wouldn't make a decent storm back home!  I don't even own a snow shovel.  The last boots I had were turned back in at the Fire Department when I retired.

We ran the furnace a couple weeks ago to burn off all the dust in the system, on a day that we could open the windows and let the smell out.  It's an annual event.

Amen GADave..  I have been in Salisbury N.C. for 19 years..  I bet the snow total in that time is about  3 feet....   When I lived in Maine...  I could wake up to see 12-24 inches that fell while I slept..  I don't miss that at all....   of course as a school boy,  I liked it if school was closed..  then i would get on my snowmobile and ride up and down the road like a Rebel..  :)

touché to both of you I moved up to Reno 30 years ago from sunny Southern California and I’m sorry I did. I hate cold air and I hate snow and we have plenty of it here both. And Dave, we have the same issue spring and fall pellet stove, and swamp cooler both blow out a lot of shit beginning of the season as far as crummy weather here it’s not nearly as bad as I cry about it a lot of times middle of the winter it’ll be 30° or so with the sunshine I guess not bad at all outside and those conditions last winter we didn’t have hardly any sunny days seems like it was cloudy the entire winter

Well, I put down my winter fertilizer and mow the lawn. Did not do any leave cleanup. I sat in the house babysitting my two little dogs watching TV. I got to at least get out there and start on those things before it starts raining Sunday morning. As most of you know, raking leaves and rain do not mix ha ha

Opps had pictures but they won’t upload..🤷‍♂️

Seems to be quite common in these days thanks for that. Yes I was picking them up that way when I was mowing the grass, but I have a lot of just dirt and sand on the other side of the driveway and the house. I gotta get out there today. I am running out of excuses. It’s supposed to start raining tomorrow and I rather get them picked up before that happens of course moving off the sofa is a whole different program ha ha

They're hard to blow after it rains on them, that's for sure. Especially if you have a line of leaves knee deep across the yard- if it rains on the pile you'll need a bulldozer to move them.
