President Trump signed an executive order Friday establishing a White House energy council to promote the nation’s energy industries.

Called the National Energy Dominance Council, the group is headed by Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, with Energy Secretary Chris Wright and EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin also serving on the council.

It’s tasked with centralizing the nation’s energy policies under the eye of the White House and underscores Trump’s position that American energy production is a pressing national security issue.

“Energy security is also national security. President Trump’s vision for energy dominance is that we’re selling energy to our friends and allies, not having them buy it from our adversaries.”

"President Trump wisely understood that under the Biden Administration, there was a war against American energy, and today that war has officially ended. President Trump on day one declared a national energy emergency, and this is a real emergency because the Biden Administration restricted the production of oil and natural gas."

Thus, students with loans should be taught that paying back one's loan is mandatory in life.

By cancelling student loans, Biden in essence taught students it is possible and okay to not pay off one's debts.

Last month at the winter retreat of BMT Investor members in Monaco, we discussed this matter and decided on neutral stance. Reason being, we expect the market to perform significantly better under President Trump than it did over the last four years.

At this juncture, BMT Investors COO Barry Holden wisely has us heavily invested in energy including oil and natural gas, and President Trump has demonstrated a willingness to work with America's energy industry to the benefit of our positions.

The Department of Energy under the Trump administration announced that it is postponing the implementation of the Biden administration’s efficiency standards on household appliances.

The efficiency standards for household appliances including central air conditions, washers and dryers, walk-in coolers and freezers, general service lamps, gas instantaneous water heaters, commercial refrigeration equipment, and air compressors is postponed.

 

“A top priority for President Trump is lowering costs for American families. Today’s announcement will foster consumer choice and lower prices — it is a win for all Americans. The people, not the government, should be choosing the home appliances and products they want at prices they can afford.”

The Department of Energy also announced that it is creating a new energy efficiency category for natural gas tankless water heaters. By creating a new category for these popular and low-cost water heaters, they are exempt from the Biden-Harris administration’s onerous rules.

President Trump previously revealed that he is instructing EPA Secretary Lee Zeldin to return to his “Environmental Order” regarding “Water Standards and Flow pertaining to SINKS, SHOWERS, TOILETS, WASHING MACHINES” and other appliances, which former President Joe Biden terminated.

“I am hereby instructing Secretary Lee Zeldin to immediately go back to my Environmental Orders, which were terminated by Crooked Joe Biden, on Water Standards and Flow pertaining to SINKS, SHOWERS, TOILETS, WASHING MACHINES, DISHWASHERS, etc., and to likewise go back to the common sense standards on LIGHTBULBS, that were put in place by the Trump Administration, but terminated by Crooked Joe. I look forward to signing these Orders.”

In July 2023, the Biden administration cracked down on water heaters by “imposing greater efficiency standards.” The Biden administration also created new guidelines on ceiling fans, which were reported to cost manufacturers $86.6 million annually.

President Trump's newly installed attorney general, Pam Bondi, has ordered the transfer of a federal inmate to Oklahoma so he can be executed, following through on Trump's executive order to more actively support the death penalty.

Bondi this week directed the Federal Bureau of Prisons to transfer inmate George John Hanson, 60, so that he can be executed for his role in the kidnapping and killing of a 77-year-old woman in Tulsa in 1999.

“The Department of Justice owes it to the victim and her family, as well as the public, to transfer inmate Hanson so that Oklahoma can carry out this just sentence,” Bondi told the BOP's director.

Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond, who sought Hanson's transfer last month, praised Bondi's swift action. He requested Hanson be transferred before Oklahoma's next execution on March 20 so that he would be eligible for the next available execution date, likely in June.

Hanson was sentenced to death in Tulsa County, Oklahoma, after he was convicted of carjacking, kidnapping and killing Mary Bowles after he and an accomplice kidnapped the woman from a Tulsa shopping mall.

Hanson has been serving a life sentence in federal prison in Louisiana for several federal convictions, including being a career criminal, that predate his state death sentence.

Drummond’s predecessor, John O’Connor, previously sought Hanson’s transfer and sued the Bureau of Prisons in 2022 after it refused to turn over the inmate to state custody during the Biden administration. The agency’s regional director at the time, Heriberto Tellez, said the transfer was not in the public interest, a decision Drummond called “appalling.”

When I was a kid, many, many, years ago, I think we got 50 cents for a bale of straw. We did a lot of combining for other people, and we'd ask if they wanted the straw. If they did we'd cut the wheat low, if they didn't we'd cut it high so we could cover more ground faster with the combine. Most people did not want the straw, but if they could have gotten that kind of money for a bale I'm sure everybody would have baled the straw.

$35.oo per bale ; that's insane. farmer I help out hauls premium hay from upstate NY . 1- looks better than that picture of "every day "hay. 2- almost tempted to ask him his bale prices. 3- carried alot of bales back in the day =field to truck// truck to barns. never imagine I was carrying "gold of the future" !!

not only was it 50 cents per bail, they were 100 pound bales too! not the wimpy 50 pound bales you see these days.

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has recovered $1.9 billion of misplaced funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD, adding that former President Biden’s administration was to blame.  

“These funds were earmarked for the administration of financial services, but were no longer needed. The funds were lost in the first place due to a broken process.

Newly confirmed Housing and Urban Development Secretary Scott Turner and DOGE worked together to fix the issue and de-obligated the funds which are now available for other use by the Treasury.

Turner plans to work with DOGE in setting up a task force within the agency, saying the collaboration will be very detailed and deliberate about every dollar spent in serving tribal, rural and urban communities across America. 

The task force, comprised of HUD employees, will examine how to best maximize the agency’s budget and ensure all programs, processes and personnel are working together to advance the purpose of the department. 

In Turner's video message on Thursday, he said that the task force recovered an additional $260 million in savings.

Shocking Scandal: Over $151 Million Intended for Soldiers’ Meals at 11 Major Army Bases Spent Elsewhere

A bombshell report has exposed that more than $151 million meant to feed soldiers at 11 of the Army’s largest bases was repurposed for undisclosed uses.

This revelation, first reported by Steve Beynon of Military.com, comes as junior enlisted soldiers struggle to access nutritious food on base, with some being forced to survive on substandard meals.

The funds in question are deducted directly from service members’ Basic Allowance for Subsistence (BAS), a monthly $460 allotment meant to cover food costs for soldiers living in barracks.

 

For junior enlisted personnel earning approximately $30,000 annually, this deduction represents a significant financial burden. Yet, instead of using these funds to provide adequate meals, the Army appears to be diverting them elsewhere.

Incredibly, out of $225 million collected across just 11 bases, a staggering $151 million was not used for food expenses. With the Army operating a total of 104 garrisons, the true amount of unspent funds could be far higher.

 

The Army refuses to disclose what the extra funds are being used for. Major expenses like dining hall infrastructure and food service worker salaries are covered under separate budgets, and despite repeated inquiries from Military.com, officials have declined to provide any transparency.

When pressed, the Army provided only a vague statement, claiming that food expenditures are based on past attendance at dining facilities. But that explanation doesn’t account for why the vast majority of BAS funds are not going toward feeding soldiers.

The following data obtained by Military.com represents the Army’s fiscal year 2024, spanning from October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024. It provides a rounded comparison of the total funds collected from soldiers for food at each installation versus the actual expenditures on food.

Fort Stewart, Georgia:

• Money collected from soldiers: $17 million
• Money spent on food: $2.1 million

Fort Drum, New York:

• Money collected from soldiers: $18.2 million
• Money spent on food: $3.9 million

Fort Carson, Colorado:

• Money collected from soldiers: $22 million
• Money spent on food: $5 million

Fort Riley, Kansas:

• Money collected from soldiers: $19.1 million
• Money spent on food: $5.1 million

Fort Bliss, Texas:

• Money collected from soldiers: $22 million
• Money spent on food: $11 million

Fort Cavazos, Texas:

• Money collected from soldiers: $42.5 million
• Money spent on food: $11.7 million

Fort Bragg, North Carolina:

• Money collected from soldiers: $34.6 million

At Fort Stewart, Georgia, for example, soldiers contributed $17 million, but the base spent just $2.1 million — redirecting 87% of the funds. Schofield Barracks in Hawaii collected $14.5 million but used only $5.3 million, meaning 63% of the money was used elsewhere.

All but two bases left more than half of the money for food unspent. Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska and Fort Bliss, Texas, left 41% and 49% of funds on the table, respectively.

It’s unclear what specifically the additional funds taken from soldiers are being spent on, but they do not appear to be going toward feeding soldiers.

How to feed the force is an equation service planners continue to grapple with. In 2023, Military.com reported that Fort Cavazos, Texas — the Army’s most extensive base — was barely able to keep its food services running for much of that summer, with only two of its 10 dining facilities open, leaving soldiers struggling to find meals.

In November last year, the publication reported pervasive food shortages at Fort Carson, Colorado. Soldiers were fed meals that were just a slice of toast and lima beans, troops told Military.com

So these junior personnel earn approx $2500 a month and then lose 20% of that to pay for their food, then get fed toast and beans.

Any wonder recruitment is non existent. Easier to sit at home on welfare. It's a bloody disgrace.

Just gives you that much more appreciation for  all the serving men and women from every country when this is how our governments are treating the ones putting their lives on the line for all of us.

one of the many advantages to being raised on a farm; we didn't pay to go to a gym ; we followed the baler around the field to be first to grab two bales- one in each hand then run across the large field to the truck. each bale being 100 lbs each; till the new baler was bought:: wimpy bales only 75 lbs each. fun days.

Tim Ryan (D-Ohio) pressed then-Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy on the food money matter during a budget hearing, saying the Army is either "wasting half the food, or the money is not being spent on the soldiers' food and it's being spent on something it's not appropriated for." However, there was no follow-up to that inquiry,

i got smart by the time i was 13 i proved i could drive the truck.....49 International L190 single axle tractor with a red diamond engine and quad box. my older brother wanted ot be superman and throw bails and had no problem letting me "do the hard work" he hated driving through the fields and then the load to the barn for stacking. by the fall i was running loads of grain to the co-op.

Warmonger Lindsey Graham flied to Europe to pledge his endearing love to the Ukrainian dictator and his war with Russia.

US Senators, including Republicans Lindsey Graham (South Carolina), John Cornyn (Texas), and Thom Tillis (North Carolina), flew to Europe this week to pledge their support to Ukrainian tyrant Volodymyr Zelensky and his war with Russia.

During one press gaggle, Lindsey opened up about his respect and admiration for the Ukrainian president.

Senator Lindsey Graham: “You and your people. You’re the ally I’ve been hoping for all of my life. Not one American has died defending Ukraine. You’ve taken our weapons and you kicked their ass. And, I’m very proud to have you as our ally.”

At least $100 billion of US Aid sent to Ukraine went missing.          Someone should ask Lindsey about that.
