May be so, may be not, but the process has to be followed to amend, it can't be done by one persons stroke of a pen!

1st it has to go though congress, then approved by 75% (I think) of the states by popular vote.

Yeah. Go through Ellis Island....all on the up and up. Not that I care in any way, but my surname isn't even what it's supposed to be. I know in my case, first generation (my Father and Uncles) went to WW2. Which in my case meant they were fighting where their parent came from. Now ????  ya sneak in....get a prize.  It's not right, abused from every angle.  All these birthright guys think it's so great, take'm to your house to live.

best part the country got rid of the phony puppet. now the challenge is to keep alive a person wanting to correct the last four yrs (on paper) corruption. news in CT showed a politician making comments "the new president will ruin things" could that mean a disruption in pocket filling. at 73 I am not too concerned. it's for the next generations which will suffer . sorry kids

No, you don't nor did you ever need a sponsor, most that came though didn't have one, Think about it, if you are the 1st how do you get a sponsor? Many came with next to nothing, then started bringing their family after they got settled.

A Sponsor makes life easier but not a requirement. I personally know someone who emigrated from Britain and didn't have a sponsor.

Well exactly. The 14th simply needs more clarification. Obviously it doesn't apply to non-residents (illegal aliens) who criminally entered the country. For me it goes without saying, but for the official record the 14th must be amended to explicitly state that.

Many here seam to mistakenly think "birthright" in someway conveys legal status on the parents, it does not. It applies to the baby, they are not "stateless". 

If your father is a convicted murderer, that doesn't make you one by birth. Sins of the parents should not be applied to the children. 

What make you or me a citizen? Is it that our parents were? or that we were born here?  In that respect we are all birthright citizens.

It was written exactly the way it was so someone in power can't decide who and who is not when they are native born. Until its passage it kept blacks and American Indian's from citizenship! Can't get more native born than American Indian!

How would you feel if Biden suddenly said all Republicans are not citizens? He could not, and the constitution was there to prevent it.

 If you want to change what is written, then follow the procedure to do so.

BTW it is very clear and has be upheld multiple times by the supreme  court.

Mark, you touched on something .. im the first one who is not a combat veteran..  grand fathers, great uncles, uncles, and dad, are all combat vets...  Im the first slacker... 😔

I wasn't there or anything, but I'm pretty sure you didn't get off the boat and tell them " I'm just gonna walk around and see how it goes "

Tennessee congressman Rep. Andy Ogles has proposed amending the Constitution to allow President Trump to serve a third term.

He filed a Joint Resolution in congress this week advancing a change to the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution. 

His resolution includes several stipulations to the change if it passes, including barring any president being elected to a third consecutive term after serving two in a row. 

And no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice. 

Ogles believes Trump will need another eight years to carry out his goal of reshaping America. 

President Trump’s decisive leadership stands in stark contrast to the chaos, suffering, and economic decline Americans have endured over the past four years. 

He has proven himself to be the only figure in modern history capable of reversing our nation’s decay and restoring America to greatness, and he must be given the time necessary to accomplish that goal. 

To that end, I am proposing an amendment to the Constitution to revise the limitations imposed by the 22nd Amendment on presidential terms. This amendment would allow President Trump to serve three terms, ensuring that we can sustain the bold leadership our nation so desperately needs.

Section 1 sentence 1 of the 14th Amendment reads:

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. 

Hmm. I'm not a constitutional scholar but if you take that sentence to mean explicitly what it says, as written, black and white, and don't interpret any further into what it might mean, then I think by definition all children born to illegal aliens in this country are US Citizens. I think when speaking of the folks coming through Ellis Island back in the day who went through the legal process those are the ones that fall under the naturalized definition and now are citizens. Now maybe the question lies in "and subject to the jurisdiction thereof". Again, I'm not Constitutional or legal expert but I really don't know what that means. Maybe Trump is angling to say since illegal aliens are in fact illegal then they and their children do not fall under the jurisdiction of the USA and hence the 14th amendment does not apply to them. I really don't know.

A hypothetical plane on a direct flight from Caracas, Venezuela to Montreal, Canada has to make an emergency landing in Atlanta, Georgia. On that plane is a pregnant Venezuelan woman, who only has Venezuelan citizenship. While on the ground at the airport she goes into labor and is rushed to a hospital and her baby is born. I assume that baby is a US citizen but really the woman is neither here legally nor illegally. Actually by chance. Does a by-chance happening make the woman subject to the jurisdiction thereof? Is that baby a citizen of Georgia? He doesn't reside there, just happened to be born there. Personally I have no clue. But this is how these things unfold. 10 people can read the exact same sentence and you will get 10 different interpretations of what that sentence means. In the end the Supreme Court will probably decide whether or not the Executive Order is Constitutional or not based on the majority's interpretation of that sentence and possibly any legal precedent(s).

The next 4 years is going to be extremely interesting, especially if your a legal scholar. I'm pretty skeptical Trump will actually be able to make any meaningful, long term changes to anything. Every single thing he does will get hamstrung in the courts and a Liberal Federal judge will step in at every opportunity.

When the constitution was written the only way to enter was on foot, hoof, or boat. And likely met by U.S. Officials.. now we have airplanes, automobiles, and Democrats, and no accountability.. naturalized women who have babies here bare babies that are u.s. citizens at birth...  IE: My Parents......
