Looks like this one has a lift tag axle. Also a bit of mix-n-match with Astro and Titan parts. Grab handles with battery box steps. And the two types of mirrors / brackets. The spot mirrors should be full size flat mirrors.    .....Hippy

You know it was a very long time ago. I wasn’t even driving trucks yet, but I’m pretty sure they used to use one of those on the brochure …I think it was actually a titan for New England tractor trailer training… bob

You are right. That Astro is made of many different parts.  Cab lights dont match, Wrong grab handles for that vintage. Im not sure from the angle but i dont think thats the correct battery box.   Intresting truck. Would like to walk around it and see just what they built.

Off topic a bit but since this tread is about Cruisliners has anyone seen this image? Promotional stunt? I found it last night and thought it was cool

Yes, I remember this when it was released.  It was a Ryder (Obviously) ad explaining how their employees are willing to do whatever it takes or something along those lines.  If I remember correctly they actually did lift the truck but it was extremely gutted and a lot of what you see is faux.

l don't think the bullet lights would fit in the center with the roof mount A/C.   .....Hippy

Ah, good point.   I know that you couldnt get the cheap round cab lights if you wanted a Lund visor on the later Astro's

That is an early Cruiseliner, notice it does not have side directional lights.
