Golden bulldog on a 4x4 or 6x6???

is that possible did Mack ever manufacture a front drive steer axle? or did they just always use fabco, rockwell and the such others manufactures??

The Mack Mh 4x4 used by UPS is the only truck that I can think of that used a front drive steer axle and I believe Mack developed some sort of special clutch just for the front wheel drive unit.

So yes Mack did manufacture their own front driven axle

It was on WW2 army 6x6 trucks

It was unique in the way it steered and drove thru king pin area

It went thru two sets of right angle gears and allows for sharp steering

sounds like weird setup but Mack does stuff right so id like to see one..... own one!!

Yeah, the "N" was a neat set-up, but I think its weak point was high speed running, not a problem on WW2 trucks it was used on, but could be when re purposed later in life. 

I think that is why it was never seen later in civi production trucks.
