2 Big Cam Cummins core engines for sale

I have two mostly complete Big Cam Cummins cores. Good enough to build one good engine with spares. One block is likely beyond hope, the other needs counterbore machine work. The one with a bad block (crack at rear coolant plug and had been run a long time with head gasket leaks) is a 400 hp CPL 676 Big Cam 4, the other started life as Big Cam 3. I kept them around as I was going to build to 676 specs (Last fixed timed 400). Both were "running cores" when pulled.

Between the two you could build one good engine with Jakes either low or high flow cooling. The BC3 is missing the oil pump and oil cooler, but does have BC 1 oil pump and cooler, the BC 4 is complete. Mix and match parts how you like. Both have good cranks and flywheel/bells. One has Horton fan clutch, other has plain fan drive. One has Teliflex (Apex) Aux high idle governor. Also have an extra PT APC fuel pump, along with the two already on the engines.

Plenty of good stuff to build one good engine.

Western Iowa, Asking $700 for the pair but open to offers. Also have some Cummins tools that I would sell separate.

I have a gin-pole truck I can use to load them on a flat-bed.

GW,  That sounds like a heck of a good deal..  Glad you are not just scrapping them.  

I recently had an offer to get 10+ E-Tech engines and (6) T-2090 Mack transmissions. My plan is to freshen up the transmissions for re-sale, and try to build good solid long blocks for re-sale,  and sell some parts as well.  My friend does not want to scrap them.  I have built 2 mack enignes for him, and he trusts me to do right by him with these units.  Thanks for letting me borrow this post..    hope you find a good home for them..  Jojo

Yeah, I don't want them to go to scrap, and thought I had a buyer, but he kept putting off finalizing the sale and picking them up. Just a few of the parts alone are worth the asking price, Apex gov goes for over $1300 now. Used Jakes are worth a fair bit, heck even the starters are worth something.

I ran the Big Cam 3 until it would not hold upper press fit liners anymore. My thought was to upgrade it by having it cut for lower press fit liners and build it back to 676 spec's.

Now I have no need.

I bought a mid-stop counter bore cutter a few years ago.  I only have a Mack E-7/ E-tech cutter head,  but I can get other styles if I ever build a different brand of engine.. the tool and the head cost me $2,850.00  Its an american made copy of the $7,000.00 kent-more model.

Few people do that as a service anymore.  Used to be there were guys would come out to your shop and cut the counter bores in chassie.

I never had enough to make buying the cutter worth the money.

Yes sir, I used to do mobile cutting when I worked for Mack dealerships..  If I was to do that today, I would want to set the liners to spec as part of the service.
