No it was a Cummims HB 600, 150 HP

Thats just gear sitting on its back, small bridge cranr from a shed and tractor parts I think

I don't think I've seen one of those in a truck, seen plenty in switching locomotives like 44 ton. Then again I might have only glanced and assumed it was a 220.

So it's a tractor?

Started life as one yes, then got stretched out to take a 24 foot tray as all road trains were body trucks in the beginning 

I shortened it up a bit maybe 30 years ago and turned it back into a prime mover (tractor)

IDK about now, but when the guys who sold them the chassis had it , it was a 335 with a five and a four

Walt, the guy that made that video sent me this picture of his dad's Brockways in front of his garage up by Wilkes Barre Pa. I thought you might like to see.

Did you by any chance know John Griffin from Masher St in Philly? He ran a bunch of older Brockways, straight jobs, tractors, and 2 wreckers. Some with wooden cabs up until he died in the late 90's

I don't go to many car "meets" or shows anymore for the same reasons. I despise my local car scene, it's full of kids with mommy/daddy money, awful taste, and awful morals. I don't care about your Subaru WRX or your Infinity G35, I'm here for the 1969 Mustang Mach 1 over there and the Chevy C10's, you know the real cars?

I've been blessed that any truck show I've been to so far has been amazing. Speaking of, I need to post some pictures of the recent show I went to months ago now...

TJC, 1957 was the last year of the "Big Job" Fords.. I think (???) the Big Job name was introduced in 1952 when Ford introduced the 317 Y block Lincoln engine in the F-8 and F-800 series. Ford changed the name to "Super Duty" in 1958 with the introduction of the 401, 477, and 534 CI designed for trucks engine.

my friend had 2 1964 Big Job F800 tandem dump trucks with 534 V8 and quad box transmissions. 
another friend had a 65 or 66  Big Job F800 tandem dump that was converted from gas to diesel when the 534 died he ran for around 20 years before trading it in on a new 1996 Louisville tandem truck.

it is hard to remember you only came in to drain the swamp..

Gas motored Tandems and single axles used to be everywhere when I was a kid. Working in my uncle's garage we got them in all the time. Being a good carb and ignition guy and we had a Sun distributor machine I could get them all running right on. They always came in missing, with the carb messed up, late timing, governor disconnected, vacuum filter on the distributor for the gov clogged, the guys always were smiling after they tried them out. I had boxes full of jets, power valves, 50 cc reo accelerator pumps, different accelerator pump cams.

We were one of those old time garages with the Black & Decker Vibrocentric valve and seat grinders, a Van Norman boring bar setup with a "sucker outer", a piston skirt  knurler, and a Winona intheblok crankshaft grinder. I had other family in philly that was still making tar top batteries and repairing and rebuilding them up until at least the late 80's, They were kind of big in the antique truck scene, really big in the antique motorcycle crowd too

we had an old timer up the street from the old house that ran the 534 ford and quad box in his trucks. he switched to 18 speed fullers with the last 4 trucks he bought new in 81 when he heard ford was dropping the 534 from the engine lineup. he ran those 4 trucks until 2000 when he finally broke down and replaced them with kittycats. 

and complained about the loss of his beloved 534's until he passed away three years ago at 94 years old. 

his son finally retired the last of the 2000 trucks this summer when the engine started using more oil than fuel. 

the son now runs freightliners with mercedes engines.

they run bulk tank trailers hauling silica sand and powered lime for concrete plants.
