Haven't seen that done since high school auto mechanics class, along with knurling valve guides.   terry:MackLogo:

True up the bores with a real hone (not a glaze breaker) knurl the piston skirts, and file your ring gaps. Good as new

Too pricey ! Ball hone much cheaper ! If your going to just rering its a matter of scuffing! and the Key = And a good hard run in! meaning get it up to temp and drive it with a load on its back! Just my opinion! best break in bar non!

Nahhh, only like 150 bucks. And they make the bores round again. Besides if you are doing END engines  you should already have one for fitting oversized liners.

I hate those dingleberry things that get called a hone. They might be ok if you are using iron rings. But if the bores aren't round with modern rings they don't always break in so well. That is what those Caterpillar guys were attempting to do back in the  50's and 60s with the "Bab-O Treatment" when chrome alloy rings first became popular

Ok. That's great. Now do you set Mack liners with the adhesive on them in those tempatures and how well do they set. 50 is the high side and I don't have a shop. This thing is outside.

Put a tarp over it and run a torpedo heater. You should build or buy a shop. They don't cost that much to heat
