OD transmission

I'm starting to suspect it does. 1700 amd 60 MPH on 10.00x20 tires is just not working out with a direct in high gear trans even with a 3,87 ratio

That might even be a set of 3.87 ratios. Is it on 11r24,5 tires?

have counted the teeth. 5.17 ratios. no idea what tyres it had. currently rebuilding the forward drive axle. Bevel pinion has exploded.

On other makes with single reduction rears, the tooth count is most often stamped in the head of the pinion (rear-rear on a set of bogies) eliminates guess work, like "was that 3.7 times or 3.9 time around the shaft?" Because the gear set is "mated" at the time of mfg, it will be correct. For Eaton 2spds it will be the "high ratio".

Don't know how Mack does it with their double reduction. esp if someone changes the gear-set and doesn't re-stamp the ratio on the housing.

yep all the  housings are incorrect. front is stamped 8.24 rear is 5.01. The actual ratios are  4.17. Having fun over here

Yeah Skippy was like the Australian Lassie. The dad was a park ranger, and they had a Bell 47 helicopter. I don't think it was on one of the major networks here in the US, it must have been on one of the UHF channels

Hell I forgot all about UHF now our TVs don’t even come with 2 knob’s lol bob and back in the day we only had like 3 major channels and 2 UHF not many choices.. bob

In the early 60's all we had was VHF 3, 6 and 10. My uncle got a bunch of these converter boxes somewhere and came over and hooked one up on our TV, then we got 17, 29, and 48 UHF channels. I remember sitting on the floor with my cousin and we were thrilled that it was all cartoons.

As a kid we only had 3 channels

ABC 2, BTV 6 and Ten

One afternoon we watching cartoons Mum and Dad weren't home, they had gone to town for their monthly shop

We were never allowed to watch TV until after 6 at night, Dad walked in and turned the TV off, my sister started going crook and chucking a wobbly

A few moments later Dad carried a box in with a new TV, he plugged it and turned it on and marvels of modern marvels, it was colour

My sister was so happy she burst into tears, Dad was like a rock star after that for a few days 🤣🤣🤣

BTV 6 was Ballarat and 2  and 10 were Melbourne and were on a different aerial, had a switch on the wall to flick to change between these

Yes, I remember our first color TV 1966 me and my pops were watching it all day long and amazed how all our favorite shows were colorized wow speaking of which kind of off the subject on old body of mine had to wind up portable TV. That’s the only one I’ve ever seen in my life that was around 20 years ago he said people use them for camping. I don’t know how old this thing was. It wasn’t a very big set maybe 14 inches

all three of my sisters worked for Blonder Tongue Labs. older sister was accounts purchasing for 32 years..

little sister was executive secretary for 28 years, and baby sister was in the product design lab for 8 years before getting married and leaving to run the new husbands construction company office.

the lab is still there, 8 miles from my house.

Abe Lincoln posted a  study on the internet before he was shot on Hitler, where he proved Hitler was a fictional character dreamed up by Sherlock Holmes..
