My opinion on that truck is ,, it’s a piece of history, updated for the next task, several times over!

Got out for a hell of a price for something that looks and runs that good especially the top end wow

Very cool truck. Definitely Looks like it was set up for a heavy spec.

Those are older mack rear axles with newer style top load differentials. Never knew you could interchange them. If the stamped ratio is correct, that's a 7.00 ratio. You can check by lifting the rear up rotate drive shaft and count how many times the shaft turns to get the wheel to do 1 full rotation.

Obviously all those aftermarket air assist steering and filter housings etc are add ons. It definitely has character and somebody enjoyed improving it thru the years.

That’s a good bit of information! I have a question, I have a 51 LJ , 55 LTH  and a 65 C600, All L cabs of course, C has the 3rd door hinges. I noticed the 2 brochures they sent you for the LJSWX-D one shows a 3rd hinge the other only 2 . Any one have some good history on the 3rd hinge ( which in my opinion is a good idea)

From my experience, trucks built after 1955 generally had 3 hinges, earlier had two. That said there are plenty of exceptions. All the LJSWX's I've seen back to 1950 had 3 hinges. I've heard there are some late LT's that had 3 hinges as well but the vast majority had two. Not sure about the C series trucks.

Thanks for the reply, I’ve always wondered about the rime or reason for skipping around installing the 3rd hinge. I once thought it was an upgrade because they would break the top hinge on a 2 hinge setup and it was added in the later trucks ,, Also a H Model uses the same door and I’ve never seen a 3rd on a HModel . All B73s I’ve seen have a 3rd hinge. Maybe an option on pre 1955 or so. I met a fellow in Macungie years ago who worked on the line when the Cs we’re being built and he said they were just a bandaid bridge from a B to the R and used L cab, B fenders . They made the hood and top radiator tank, interesting conversation. Now that I’m curious about the 3rd hinge maybe someone  has some factory information.

I never did understand why they went from the L cab to the B. I've owned an L and driven a few. L cabs were comfortable. I'm a big guy and B cabs always felt tight to me

I’m with you on a B cab being cramped. I think it was because of durability , the door seems to be tighter after years of use. Maybe that’s why the LJSWX-D with the hard nose has the 3 hinges, stiffer suspension  shakes the cab more?

From my build sheet the cab service assembly is part number 2QSA 492P14. It doesn’t show a number for the doors, anybody have the “cab service assembly” number from a two hinge door?  It is shocking how many categories there are with individual part numbers, indicating there were options for those parts.
