Dammit !!! i used to know the answer. Im thinking .008". I even forgot if the center crank journal has separate thrust washers, or if the bearings have them as a 1 piece bearing..

Just curious,,,,, what is the concern or are you just checking it?

As I am typing this, im realizing that ive been away from them too long, im forgetting a bunch.. i guess i will leave this up, rather than delete it..  jojo

Back when I was studying for my A&P lic, we had to memorize which way a cam ring turned on a specific engine (mostly piston engines back then, mostly radial) I always thought "Who in the right mind would trust their memory when working on an aircraft engine?". Manuals were printed for a reason!

The manual for the Gardner 6LXB was about the size of a cheap comic book, because they expected you to know how to work on an engine and just provided the unique info and spec.  The one for my Big Cam 4 looks like the New York City yellow pages, because everything was in "pictograms"!

There is so little true info contained in many manuals today, more how to simplify to the least common denominator

mostly radial

That has to be going back a few years. The only thing I can think of using a radial in recent years is agricultural aircraft. I knew a guy that did banner towing with a Stearman 75 but that had to be from the 40's

I really want to get the answer for this posting, but my MP books are in the shop, and I cant walk right now.  I printed several svc. Manuals when i was at the dealership years ago.. i must have known i was not going to last at that shop.. 😉

Just the essential tools to remove the head and injectors will bankrupt me..  I will refer those builds to you, ok ?? :)

I have some friends at the recycle yard 🤣! You can send em my way however They will only build the pile there! Some things are worth saving MP engines arn't one of them! There won't be many 20 year engines in this line up! Not like the gray stuff anyway!
