The ad says this truck was built in 1996 as a glider but it's never been titled or used so it's basically a new truck. I'm scratching my head wondering why someone would keep a glider kit around for 28 years. That V12 would be a beast of a motor, you'd have to mortgage your house to keep it in fuel and parts.

When you buy a vehicle with a Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin, you have to pay the FET in order too title it. If it was built as a trailer queen, that would explain why it was never  titled

I think that truck came from The Hot Rod Shop, or Great Lakes Diesel ..... or whatever their name was that week.  That was that place that used to sell the "high performance" Caterpiller parts.  I remember the add. Stated something about the tire size or something. Guy also had an add for a 3406E converted to a P7100 injection pump.   (on a side note, I'm going off memories from Overdrive or the TNT while taking a dump, so information here may not be totally accurate)

I'm thinking some engineering compromises were made that leaned towards "show truck" that make it somewhat unusable for work. I'll bet that front axle is overweight before it's even hooked to a trailer.

With those pic's (where did they come from?) the front axle doesn't have dual boxes so I would guess under 16K now, and yeah it would be nose heavy. My cabover was 12,600 on the steer bobtail. Lot more weight and distance to the rear axles on that one!

Looks like a 20K by the tire size.

There was some comment in the add about the steer tires. They were some widebase rated for high speed or something.  I'm almost positive it's that truck. How many could there be like that

Steering gear and springs are saying about 12,500 to me

Like one of those guys who puts a dump body on a freight tractor with air suspension and doubles the frame kinda half azzed up until doing that gets difficult so he stops somewhere around the back of the cab. Then tries to tell me it's done right

I've been Google'n away here looking for that truck. Haven't had much success.  Almost 30 years ago, holy cow.

I remember seeing it somewhere for sale back around 2000. It might have been TNT. I was thinking it was Pittsburgh Power, but I could be wrong
