Back in the 80's and 90's my Polish cousin, ran his whole demolition company with Illegal Polacks. He was giving them like 100 a day and they worked here for a couple of years living cheap, and then go back to Poland with 50 or 100K saved up. From what they told me American Dollars went a long way in Poland, and if you had 50 or 100k in US Dollars you were a very wealthy man

CAN i GET AN AMEN .  Polacks can't be all bad; they were the center of all the jokes years back;;; why all you jealous people. LOL

These trucks full of Portland Cement belong to SIG. They are like the largest Portland cement producer in Asia. These guys aren't playing. They are doing business like it's combat, and here in the US we are doing business like it's a day care center for preschool girls

i think 99% of pakistan is already a superfund site.... they just do not have an epa there to declare the country as one.

have you ever watched any of the ship breaker videos? pakistan is one of the largest ship breakers

If only our current administration could stay in power, we could pay for it's cleanup. 😁

When does 40 ton become 90 ton?

I moved an EMD 20 cyl, generator and switch gear all enclosed on 8 axles. around 168,000 lbs gross

Normally they were 44 tons so the yard guys could run them. 45 tons and up had to have an engineer or a two man crew

Here is something pretty cool. I think they were using a one megawatt 1800 RPM unit here. Voltage is at least 4160. You can see the generator load every time the feet go down. I didn't watch all the parts, but usually lots of greasing going on when they walk them far.

Hey @Mark T, How far did they walk the Anthracite King that time? I think it was some crazy distance. I think they told me it was to make the cut for RT81.

Thats cool stuff guys. Wish i had experience with mining machines, always been impressed by those giants..

I'm not sure how far it walked. I thought they were talking about using it again. I know the Marion down in the cut below it was running not too long ago.  Isn't that Marion in the picture over The Shaft ?    And yes Jojo, you would like to see those.  If you stood by the cut where the big Marion is and looked down you get dizzy for a second. Then you realize the D9K sitting next to it is a D9K (lol)    I might be wrong, but from what I understood, the 250 ton end dumps at the time couldn't make it from the bottom of the pit up. The big Marion cast up to The Anthracite King (a huge Bucyrus Erie) then material was loaded to go to the breaker.  I always thought that was a Marion. Knew it ended up blue and white.

I would love it.. For Sure.. thanks Mark..

At the time , they were about the biggest in the world.  The Marion uses an 85 yard bucket.  I wanna say they were new back in the later '60s (?)

As far as I know the Anthracite King needs a new tub (base). But who knows what else by now

pidgeon shit

Damn shit is corrosive as hell. Plays hell with stuff like the electrical cabinets, connections, all kinds of stuff.

Back around 1990 I worked moving that one for Booty from Penn Terminal to if I remember correctly right behind the brick plant. He bought it from British Steel and it came on a ship to right below Philly. 122 truckloads. All up 309. The boom point was 18 feet wide. Almost all the loads we had to go north up the southbound lanes to get through Tamaqua because north took you up the side of that bar that had the  horse on the roof, and then you had to make a hard left

40 becomes 90 also when driver paid by the ton .!!

I wish I knew how to drive a quad box.  All i know how to drive outside of regular grocery getter trannys is a Mack 12 spd. and a Mack X-107 twin stick... Boring I know...

you have to check the twin stick driving. I know there are others beside a Mack quad on there. pick the subject an you tube will have it. large mining (big muskie ) and more. can easily spend an afternoon (rehab) bouncing topic  with you tube.

both the B61sx :20 and the DM811sx :18 speed I drove part-time were fun. today I  couldn't do the two stick same time method; if I could even properly shift two stick one at a time.
