That was almost 21,000 apparatus ago.  The Pittsburgh Brockway was photographed in 1988.

Did your employment take you to all these fire houses as a vendor rep or trainer or something or did you just as a hobby visit fire stations and take pictures. Hard to believe a guy from Georgia was randomly in the Brighton Heights Pittsburgh neighborhood in 1988 and happened to get a photo that good...Just curious

Dave, Thank you for this topic. I am not educated enough in fire apparatus to find out the details as most of mine were taken at shows. I always enjoy watching the vehicles work. I remember many years ago on Saturday afternoon at Macungie, in the field that is now transport parking there was a port-a-pond was set up and several trucks were working. I especially enjoyed the front mounted Arens Fox piston pumper jump up and down. Here is a picture of the display trucks working at the Vintage Trucks of Florida show in Leesburg FL about 4 years ago.

That red and black Seagrave is owned by a guy I know.  It was resurrected from a large pile of rust.  It is not a restoration, it's a work of art.

At the same time that Pittsburgh was running the Brockway/Maxims they also had similar engines on Mack "R" model chassis.

I posted one in the Mack Fire Apparatus photo album on this site back on Feb 9, 2016.

Here are a couple of pictures of a c1970 Brrockway 358 for sale at Buddy Sombart's auction. I was interested, but it was too far gone for my shop and ability's.

You piqued my interest again with another Pittsburgh station. From the Mack Fire Apparatus Thread 2/9/20216:

Engine 37, Pittsburgh, PA (retired)

1974 Mack R

1000/500

Engine 37 is housed in Station 37, which is also located on Pittsburgh's North Side in the Manchester neighborhood. The firehouse isn't shown as much in this shot, however I don't think it has changed at all. Below is current Google View of it. The house in the background is mostly unchanged as well. @GA_Dave when was this photo taken? In 1988 as well? Something interesting is the paint colors of this 1974 Mack. I assume it was painted as such to honor the Steeler's first Super Bowl victory which was for the 1974 season but played January 12, 1975. I wonder if they repainted it or if the Truck was a 1974 chassis but built and delivered sometime after January 12 1975. The Brockway that started the thread is obviously red and probably a 1975 or later since it is utilizing the Mack built cab. The Steeler's had won at least one more Super Bowl (1975) and possibly two (1978) by the time the Brockway was delivered. Also, I have never seen another black and yellow City of Pittsburgh fire truck. All the ones I have seen going back 20 years now have all been red. @GA_Dave Can you tell if the pictured Mack is a foam truck? Station 37 is now a Haz Mat, foam engine.
