New to me 94 ch600. Previous owner had power divider air line unhooked. I took a blow gun and blew into fitting on front cone and air came out differential breather. Now it appears power divider is locked even without air pressure. I suspected maybe bad diaphragm but not seeing one anywhere on what I’ve taken off so far. Any tips on what to look for or possible issues?IMG_4975.thumb.jpeg.76fcc7390cddf21967d72b2b76461536.jpeg

Remove the piston and clean the bore with a brake cylinder hone, inspect, and clean and re -ring the piston.  The shifter shaft looks to be in nuetral, what has you thinking it is locked in.?

I may be thinking about it wrong. I have the truck in neutral and rear driveshaft off and the input and output of front differential are locked together and spin freely. However when I take a pry bar and push spring back and try to spin either shaft on power divider it won’t turn. Truck isn’t jacked up. So maybe it isn’t locked?

Sounds like with the bar, you are locking the power divider and they wont turn because brakes are set and or wheels are in the ground.. the return spring tells me the power divider is unlocked.. you can also look in the fork cover to see the fork operate, a little bit of it anyway..

Ok yes I think I was thinking about that wrong. Too many projects going on :D. But I’m not seeing anything that looks like a piston. Am I missing it? I haven’t taken anything off besides the covers

Is it not inside the cover? Hold it away from you over a bucket with a pile of rags in it and carefully put a little air to it

Nothing in there besides air

Well, theres the air leak.  I wish i could remember what the piston looked like.  I may go to my shop and get the book here in a bit.

The piston is missing unless I am not seeing it good in the pictures. here is a link I made. It is from My Mack book.

It definantly looks like the piston is missing from the shaft. the spring looks to be in the released position as that spring pushes back to release the Power Divider when air is exhausted.
