Sorry im bombarding this place with questions. I’m brand new to Mack. Changing differential oil in my 94. Discovered you have to drain carrier and axle housing separate. Mack dealer wasn’t much help on quantity it holds so just going until running out check plugs. Want to make sure I’m doing it right. On rear axle I filled axle housing through the check plug and it held about 5.5 gallons. Then filling carrier through vent and when it came out side plug it held about 3-4 gallons. That seems like a %^|{ load of oil and don’t think there was quite that much in it when I drained it all. Is that right?

Front diff has 3 sumps, 3 drain plugs... Power divider,,,, top reduction housing, that plug is on the back left side tucked in a hole,,,,, then the bowl.  The rear does not have the power divider, but the same other drain plugs.. you fill mack rears from the top down when replacing oil, and only check the level at the rear plug in the axle housing.. banjo housing is another name. 30+ pints in the front,,,, 28 pints in the rear,,,,, 75W90 synth was what was in it,  but other grades can be used depending on your climate.

Mack dealer did tell me 80-90 in mine. So do I need to drain out and start over? Where do I fill from then?

Just pull the side plug on the side cover, drain it, then the rear plug on the banjo housing.. here is a link for you

Thanks. I tried looking for a book the other day but was striking out

I had one company that was always having wheel seal leaks. Turns out they were filling the bottom first and working up. Easy enough mistake to make if you are not familiar with them
