Popular Post Toby Schwartzman Posted January 27 Popular Post Share Posted January 27 Hi Everyone, I'm new to the forum, having just purchased a 1966 Mack B61T. I don't know the early history of the truck, but in 1973 it was purchased by a first-generation Italian-American named Richie Casaliggi, who had grown up in the East Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn and later moved to Staten Island. He ran this truck as an owner-operator and delivered heating oil for a friend's company in Gowanus called Petroleum Tank Cleaners, on Butler Street. I emailed with Richie's widow, and she said he was very proud of this truck. It was parked in 1977 and stayed in a garage in Brooklyn until 2004, when it was given away along with three other trucks. It then sat in an open yard just down 3rd Avenue for another 20 years, until I bought it in January 2025. I got the chassis record from Mack, and it has the 711, triplex 15-speed, and a 4.62 rear (single axle). Top speed should be about 65 miles per hour. It has the old Tachograph in the cab, and some modifications for pumping oil that I will remove to return it to factory configuration. It was originally painted Mack red, but Richie painted it green. It needs a lot of work, so I will be asking a lot of questions! Thanks in advance!
