What year is the truck?

Have you ever done a Mack valve adjustment?

Does it have an engine brake?

I can post a picture of a book if i have right one.

I can also talk you through it if needed as well as others on here

Welcome to BMT Nathan.Lads this Cruiseliner is a sister of our Cruiseliner. My son Daniel has been in touch with Nathan a lot over the last few months. We are hopping to reunite the two Cruiseliners in the not too distant future.  Nathan the lads here have helped us so much.We would not be as far on with our Cruisliner only for them.Good luck with our sister truck.

If you can, go back with something brushless!

I don't know how many of those L/N JB series I have kicking around. I always replace with something without brushes.

That’s one of my priorities pulling mine off and pulling out a part. It still charges well but I’ve had a truck 30 years and who knows what kind of condition it is inside. I’d like to at least pull it off pull it apart blow it out clean it up and try to squeeze a little lubricant Into the bearings. Good luck, bud…. Bob

If you are going to open it up, get a set of brushes, and a paper clip.

You have to remove the regulator and brushes to get at the bearings,  when you re-assemble before installing the regulator on top of the brushes, poke a paper clip though the small hole to hold the brushes in place while installing the regulator, then pull the clip out before tightening down the regulator.

If you weren't 1/2 a world away, I'd send you a case.

I think at this point a better unit would be as cheap as replacing that one no core.

Yeah my supplier has said the same so going to see what he can get me

Nathen, let me know what you come up with...I think I might be in the same trouble...ours stopped chargeing too....

Regulator on the top is a common fault, along with the brushes. If you have the regulator off, might as well put brushes in while it is out.

Almost all I have done, only need a regulator, the rest of the parts don't often give much trouble.

I think something like a Delco 22SI will bolt right on and they are only like 200 bucks. But that LN 2500 series is a good unit. It could just be the diode trio blown out of it. You can most times replace those without even taking the alternator off

If it's been sitting a long time it could just need the field flashed
