We used to have a guy who came around with cylinder kits. Genuine Mack, 50 bucks each cash. But no oversizes. I think at the time they were 125 at the dealer. He'd have like enough for 10 or 20 engines in the back of his pickup.

Then there was this operation. I knew all these guys.

It started with this guy we called Numb Nuts selling 900-20 tires and batteries out of the back of his pickup in like 1975. There was no way this was not known all the way up to at least the school board.

20 Arrested in $1.5M Bensalem Conspiracy Probe

The former Bensalem School District business administrator is arrested in connection with a massive conspiracy investigation involving thefts from the district.

A year-long corruption investigation culminated in the arrest of 20 people associated with the theft of more than $1.5 million from the Bensalem School District, police announced Tuesday morning.

Bensalem investigators made the arrests after they launched two separate investigations into alleged misdoings involving district staff. One investigation focused on “ghost employees,” the other on theft and illegal distribution of vehicles and related parts, township Public Safety Director Fred Harran said.

District Attorney David Heckler and Harran both said the investigation is not finished and more arrests are possible.

So the clutch lost all its free play again ( ffs ) so I’m starting from scratch and adjusting the clutch brake adjustment etc first etc. the adjustment on the arm is seized solid so that’s going to be my first job. I’ve removed the adjustment bolt all ready to clean up .

Hey up bud sorry I was in the land of nod. I’ve been told it’s a spicer clutch with the big ring you adjust

Ok.  So it has the 9/16" or 14 mm bolt for an adjuster? The one you have to push in and turn with the clutch held down..

So first of all- if the clutch brake is still working you need not adjust the arm if you have lost the clutch brake your clutch cable may be failing also the cruise liner had issues with the floor cracking where the cable attached to the floor check that out ! there was a reinforcement kit to address that issue back in the day! If you have no free pedal again you either the threads on the ring inside are striped  or the clutch could simply be worn out ! highly unlikely however.... In my mind you got a cable issue there I would be looking closely at the pedal end of the cable before getting to carried away!

just sayin!

So my trip to see Big Ben Might be Still on Then???

The cable seems free enough and the floor seems to be ok. When the clutch is up the cable  is solid like there’s tension on it from the clutch likes it’s not tree leading enough

The main question is !Does the clutch brake still work? If so your look to adjust the inside!

How would I know if it works or not. Sorry I’m not used to clutch breaks and adjustable pressure plates etc

So when you push your foot to the floor does the trans grind when you try to push into gear?

1 hour ago, Nathanwhit1 said:

No not at all

Then your clutch brake is working... It's only purpose it to stop the transmission input shaft from turning so you can engage a gear from clutch engaged neutral without any grinding.

So you need to turn the ring on the inside! Under the cover on the bottom!

im not dumb and do want to help so i have to ask am i the only one seeing in the video the release bearing and the clutch cover NOT connected?????? i see the input shaft but you should NOT  be able to see that. the input shaft should be inside the release tube, which connects the release bearing to the clutch......... seems the clutch wont work

you have a video with motor running and throwout bearing moving?

I haven’t got a video of it working and running as I don’t have anyone to help me if that makes sense. The clutch does work in a fashion but when I lift my foot of the pedal it takes a while for the drive to engage. I spoke to the previous owner and they have never had the gear box out and it was all working perfectly when it was parked up ( around 30 years ) so I’m a bit stumped with it all. I could do with a diagram of the whole setup with the tube you are on about so I can try and get my head around it all

the input shaft is not shown but goes through "release sleeve", rides on the two bronze bushings .......Untitled.gif.7f1bfc20823cb336e256b2f3a30bf29a.gif
