Last time I went through there, I saw one of the woods brothers trucking past me They were still driving red R model dump trucks I did recognize them, but I didn’t know which one it was. There was two or three brothers. Micheal woods  was the only one I knew the other guys were a lot older.

Thought you might’ve known of them off hand I used to work with the younger brother Micheal one we were both too young to drive yet we were both working in a gulf  gas station the good old days now it seems like most everything sucks

That is a real great find!!!!!! I remember them fondly!! Some diners also used them to scramble their eggs to make a fluffy omlet.. I do not reconigise the "Ritter" name... Was it an Australian assembly company for General Electric???

Hi Brocky

It is a 100% USA made milk shake appliance. Sorry you cannot zoom into the brass plate at the front of the picture, it has voltage @ 230V which I recognise is your USA power voltage for appliances. Here in Australia it is 240V and all our appliance have the 240V label. Cheers

Our standard voltage for most everything is 110. Stoves, dryers, hot water heaters, and heavier electric motors are 220. I had to get an adapter to plug my 110 phone charger into your 240 when we were on the Down Under Tour.

Our crank phone number was 28Y22.. Line 28 The Y or F indicted the the length of the first ring.. our was 2 shorts and 2 longs.. The fire house was 4 longs and the telephone operator plugged into all the lines and alerted everybody to a fire..

I'd forgotten all about that! We were on a party line when I was a kid, our ring was 3 longs. Pretty much everybody knew what everybody's ring was because people used to listen in on other people's conversations on a regular basis 🤣

We were talking about letters and phone numbers. I’m sure you’re remember those days as well. Ours was Jefferson five in 1964

I have a picture of a Jamerson Bros. Trucking A model Mack on the computer, it just says "phone 15" on the door.

I haven’t been there in years, but I thought the fire station was right there someplace.. United auto parts was in there somewhere .. I  used to work. There.. was right in there someplace. Also, I think it was a little further down past the City Hall compared to some other towns it was a pretty small town Square. Super subs are used to go there all the time that was also gone last time I went through there.

Fire station is a few doors down same side of street.  Other half of building is a 7 11

We had a party line at our summer home in the 60's and 70's. I can't remember what our ring was, but I do remember having to wait while a neighbor finished their call. And being on the phone and having them pick up and end up joining the conversation for a few minutes

yes, we also had a party line. I forgot all about that and yes if somebody was on it, you had to wait until they were done or continue listening ha ha
