All rates shown in the table below apply to the Lincoln & Holland tunnels, the George Washington, Bayonne & Goethals bridges, and the Outerbridge Crossing. Tolls are collected entering New York. No tolls are collected entering New Jersey. All Port Authority crossings are cashless and no longer accept cash toll payments. Learn more about cashless tolling.

I used to love going to NYC. Tolls get added on the invoice, high fuel costs get added on the invoice, Traffic, I work by the hour.

someone has to pay for the port authority train tunnels under the river and new trains..... you cant expect the money for that to come from train fares could you? 

last year it cost me $147 for every bridge or tunnel i went through/over

looks like this year will be $152 each crossing

Is that for one trip into NYC? If it is holy cow.We think 4 dollars into Dublin is a rip off...

I think it is, and covers the return back over the bridge.. i wanted to fuss about paying $20.00 to go over the George Washington Bridge decades ago,, but figured i was not in touch with today's cost... 🍻

nope. that is each bridge/tunnel. brooklyn, queens, and long island are $450 for me with paver and skid steer, and the same for the boss in the low boy with the milling machine and roller.

if i go to staten island i only have to pay one way one time.

The G.W. was $20 when I started driving too. The Pa. Pike cost $21 to go from Breezewood to Ohio, in class 7. West VA. Turnpike was $9 and some change. Then they all went up and up and up until you had to carry a suitcase full of cash to pay tolls, then we went to EZ- Pass and I didn't even keep up with it anymore. I have no idea what the G.W. bridge or Pa. Pike Costs to run now.

Back when, We paid cash at the tolls and got a paper receipt. l carried a one hole paper punch in the truck. l would punch out the time stamped on the receipt because it was never correct. Sorry officer but you will need to go by my log book as to what time l passed thru.    .....Hippy

And on the GW when it was $20, DO NOT try to give them a $100 bill!!!! You got pulled over to the side and had to go in the office and they treated you like you were the worst counterfeiter in the country....  If I rermember right when I was dispatching for Matlack in Norristown PA the GW was $6 and the Tri-Bourgh was $4.50 and we bought books of tickets by mail and issued them per trip.

and you had to go to the george washington bridge port authority office to get them. 

port authority of ny/nj is now cashless tolls. you either use ezpass, or the owner of the vehicle gets billed by mail.

We paid cash and got a receipt too. Turned our receipts in they paid us back for tolls and any truck related items we bought on the road. When we went to Boston we'd say "you'd better have at least $100 to pay tolls, and a carton of cigarettes". 

Now if you only had $100 you'd probably have to turn around in Baltimore and come back. 🤣

The last company l drove for (hidden info-DHL Supply Chain) took taxes out of my reimbursement. l had a rental truck without an EZPass one time so l paid the toll out of my pocket and turned in the receipts. When l got my pay check it showed the $10.00 +/- minus taxes on the stub. When l asked why l wasn't paid out of a petty cash draw they said they didn't have one. l told them it would be the last time l would use my own money for any company business. And that l would go how ever far out of my way both miles and time to go around a toll. They did the same thing with Thank you/Gift cards. What ever the amount of the card it would show as income and taxable on my pay check.     .....Hippy
