Replaced valve cover gaskets on my Mack EM6 4 valve and after a test drive it is still leaking, I had torqued them to 17 ft. lb. was wondering if anyone would know the actual specs.

Did  you replace with the one piece gasket? Or the strip gasket! The one peice is best your torque is not the issue ! All surfaces Must be clean and dri!

This is what it was replaced with, one piece but with the weird overlapping joint in it. Everything was wiped off before assembly, cleaned the groove out in the valve cover with brake cleaner and pushed a rag along the whole groove with a screwdriver. I guess I don't know why it's still leaking.image.jpeg.a2a90261a949d71a7a83adbea3690776.jpeg
