Aight ya'll, the parts guy is calling for help for once. Customer has the oldest truck I've ever looked up parts for, a 1967 DM607S, and needs a whole clutch. Impact actually brings up a little information believe it or not, but it's impossible to read. Truck has an END673P with a TRQ7220 quardruplex. He told me the disc was 15" diameter, and the lookup confirms with him that it has a 2" x 10 spline. Any ideas? I found similar on PAI, but I'm not confident given they are a smaller diameter than what he is telling me.

Sounds like a Mack CL50 clutch. Is it a push type throwout bearing? I kinda remember them being smaller than 15 though. There was s single disk CL58 too, but I never remember seeing one

Oh BTW, there are shims needed to install a new cl50 clutch. You remove shims to compensate for wear. If his is worn out somebody probably took all the shims out already. Make sure he has them

I just came across the receipt for the clutch I put in my B some years ago. The truck has a 673P and TRQ7220. The replacement part is identified as UQ M4106-15200VBS, reman clutch. It came from a Mack dealer, but I' not sure if it was a Mack part. I also looked up my Mack build sheet, and here are some numbers for the CL28 Clutch : assembly 101HBA 4116D, Clutch Disc Assy 101HBA 3144B-P9, clutch pressure plate 597HBA 416B  Good luck!

The Mack museum confirmed the truck has a Cl258 clutch, but I'm having the darndest time finding a number I can order for that. The M4106-15200VBS Steve gave was a good lead, but I can't cross it to anything I can get. Anyone have an idea about a Spicer number or something?

Looking at that website I would at least give then a call for a rebuild on your clutch. That way there is no wrong parts or at least a minimum. Check to see about the wear shims as mentions.

When I did my double disc Mack pusher clutch it went to Southbend Clutch in IN years ago. They put in heavier pressure plate springs and ceramic pucks instead of organic clutch lining. Not to hard on the foot, holds well and no chater. No clutch smell when slipping it a little ether.

That will work perfect, they're the company Mack sends injection pumps and such to for reman, I don't see why they wouldn't be a good choice. I'll let me guy know, thanks for all the info ya'll! These trucks are very much so out of my league!

Years ago when I was looking for a domestic source for a British Bus clutch, I remember coming across a Mack 17" clutch of some kind, close but not a match.

The Bus clutch was very similar to the one pictured above, but the disk was between 11/16th and 3/4" thick. The cover plate "fingers" had square "adjustment blocks on them giving 4 settings and the throw out had 2 sets of pockets for the levers to ride in, allowing a long service life before the clutch needed to be pulled.

Had to put one in down in Tulsa, Ok, the cover wasn't correct ( I wasn't involved in getting it) and had to change the pressure plate and springs to the old cover in the field before installing it.

They switched mine to metallic because of the 237, I didn't want it to slip.  It is smooth as silk.  It was very inexpensive and only took a couple days.
