I'm sure you know this, but make sure all that release lever adjustment stuff is freed up while it's out in the open, and the shafts and bushings are in good shape.

Yeah that’s 2moros job buddy

The clutch brakes exist in different thicknesses. The reason I belive is to compensate the flywheel cut off and possibly cut on the tranny housing where it gets onto either. But I have no idea on how to calculate the excees of the thickness. And those I bought +3/8" were still thin for my cases:)

on newer set-ups, I have seen a redish fiber disc that goes between the clutch brake and the tranny to give an extra grip.  To me, the bigger issue is drivers that dont know that they are not to push the clutch all the way down when shifting gears.

I once put 2 clutch brakes in a Mack with a 12 speed and a new clutch the guy brought with the truck. There was that much space between the bearing and the front of the transmission....and it worked (lol)  Jojo, you sure you're not thinking of one of those clear acrylic shafts between two trannys ?

Seriously. I have no idea  what was mismatched in that one. The release yoke was where it belonged and all and there was almost an inch behind the bearing (without a brake.  I slid the transmission back and put an entire second brake in it.  Never bothered it in the least.

Ive done that before when i was a new guy.  I just did what i was told... I think it was an X-107, heck there were some with a spring loaded clutch brake, but I would have to open a book, instead of my brain to work on that set up....

Something was cut "a bit" more than that could be. What doesn't really surprize in an old truck. And putting two brake disks is an improvement. Since you have two sets of internal pins in action as the result.

I also noted that the intermediate plate which you fit between two clutch disks I had in my truck was notably thinner than one in a used clutch set I bought ocassionally. Very notable difference, something like 9/16 compared to 3/4. Would hardly influence the pressure plate adjustment position and clutch brake travel.

Well what an 🤬🤬🤬 day 🤣🤣🤣. Went to connect the clutch lever up and the lever would move properly. When I looked in the bell hosing the release bearing was the wrong way round 🤬🤬. So after an hour of swearing and head banging I managed to take the fork to bits so I could spin the bearing the right way it was all connected and working. So next stop is road test in a couple of days. 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻
