I know this has been discussed and most likely the synchro clutches bad. I changed out the shift knob, valve that sits on top of transmission already. My main question is I cant find Kent-moore tool number J-41028 anywhere on internet. Anyone have one collecting dust?

The tool number is straight out of the mack synchro repair manual. It hold everything in place when you take back cover off to do job with transmission still in truck.

I did have the yoke off awhile ago to replace seal, you think that could be the issue???

It needs to be torqued in place for real.. not just tight... 500+ lbft... The tool your looking for is the yoke you push down through the top opening to hold the clutch pack.  Thats my guess.. totaly needed for in chassis removal of the back box... Does OTC have it?

You need to check is all!   If you don’t have or can’t get the tool your other option is to pull the trans and stand it on the bell housing!
