issue with the beer for me is the weight gain. last week or so for me attempting to meet a weight number before this up coming appointment ; NO beer/ eating healthy stuff. DR will kick my ass if I'm over weight. last saw him I was 200lbs (6ft) . today scaled in at 183.4

Towards the end of my marriage in the late 90's I was stressed out and eating a lot, not to mention drinking tequila like it was water I got up to 360 and I'm 6' 3". Somehow I was still working like crazy climbing stuff, up on top of loads, rebuilding truck engines, doing clutches. I used to eat kielbasa and eggs for breakfast and wash it down with swigs of tequila and then go to work. I was running a steel nose 1974 DM with a roll off on it, no air conditioning, rough as hell looking, moving containers full of scrap metal all over Philly. I used to hit the scale at the scrap yard way overweight on 3 axles I remember sometimes over 100,000. I really don't know how I got away with it, or for that matter even lived through it.

After my divorce I stopped drinking and eating so much and lost about 100 pounds in about 2 years

360 😳

i was the guy alcoholics in bars would point to and say "when i grow up i want to be like him"

then one day 25 years ago after putting my best friend in the ground i realized i was next if i did not change my ways real quick......so i did.

i will say one thing though, i NEVER EVER stopped at a liquor store, or even in a strip mall with a liquor store in it while in a work vehicle, and never ever drank on the job.

at the time i was probably the only sober one at the company.

one year before i quit as truck foreman i went through 36 drivers in a 6 month period.

the straw the broke the camels back was the day i went to move a truck and found a spoon, lighter, and needle on a trucks battery box. i walked in the office and quit on the spot because the owner would hire anyone s long as they could drive around the block without hitting anything.

one guy i tol d hime "that guy is no good, you will regret hiring him" a week later he took off with the dump box up in the air and hit a bridge, totaling the truck and doing $350,000 in damage to the bridge.

You have my "vote" for the kielbasa and eggs -I missed that food intake !! My hats off to You Sir for Your accomplishments. wife number 2 doesn't understand how a foul marriage entices the urge to alcohol  intake.

Excellent out here sausage is hard to find and I ask for sausage sandwich anywhere they look at me like I was asking about a 37 la salle .. looking forward to macungie and getting tons of sausage sandwiches

Cant say how I missed this topic but heres my take...Love many different types of music...country,rock,trad,80s...If we're talking a celeb for wife material then its Debbie Harry aka Blondie for me,still in love with her..saw her in concert last year...Had a binge on alcohol for about 5 years in my late teens early 20s.drank just about anything and went to bed with any female that was old enough and had a pulse....but outta the haze came a beautiful woman who cleaned me up and sorted me out.Glad to say we are still together....We both still enjoy a beer but its once a month or thereabouts...Only drink that turns my stomach is Baillys Irish Cream,a mix of Irish whiskey and cream Yuck Yuck Yuck....anyway thats my story...

Oh yeah as for food, one thing I have alway loved on my visits to the US is to go to a good smokehouse...man baby back ribs...sausage, burgers, pulled pork, chicken wings...the list is endless...

100% agree JC.You have some fine examples there.ZZ Top played in Ireland in 86 I think it was and brought the car and the girls with them. They shot some video at a beach just 4 miles from where I live.Dont know if it was ever used but Iv never seen it.Unfortunely I didnt get to see them but I did see the car later the same week....You have jogged another thought outta the back of the head🤣
