My first question is tell me about these air cleaners, I've never been around them. Can you get new ones? I don't really want to put a canister on it I think it looks cool the way it is

In case I wasn't clear, I wasn't saying elements were not made anymore, just the filter housing. Elements should be available from any filter mfg. Baldwin, A/C etc

That's good to hear. Kind of amazing actually in this day and age.

Wow, congratulations that thing looks really clean, but I thought you had an MH what happened to that? . Good luck I’m sure you can find your parts. Breather elements are relatively easy along with most other filters check Amazon that’s where I got my oil filter. Good luck with it and have a ball…. Bob

My next question has to do with the shudders as I don't really know how they work. Are the actuators still available if this one Is bad? What temp should they open up? The temp gauge is not hooked up/can't find the wire so that's the first thing on my list.

feedline to the shutterstat  should have a 1/4 turn brass valve in line  . close the air supply ; shutters are suppose to stay open . will allow for running the unit plus give time to diagnose system.

So does air keep them closed and it springs open when there is no air? I haven't noticed them move any

Yes, A lot of them get froze up with rust. Mine took a lot of cleaning and oil to free up.
