looks like a 711 to me with the filter up high. could be a real early 237 with the 711 style thermostat housing. looks like the stunt double truck also has 20'' hubs and the hero truck has 22''. you can tell by how short the front spoke is in the one pic

I noticed that too, the truck on the right sits up about 8 or 10 inches higher than the one on the left.  Same with my Superliners 22.5 and 24.5 and same with the A54s 24 and 20 wheels

Hey rob, Thankyou for your reply. Unfortunately I have never read the artical in trucking life so can only go from what Dennis tells me on the phone, he can't remember exact power plants but said they where apparently both turbo 6's. I'm waiting to hear back from Ralph Clark and the original owner from country NSW's. Transmission in the hero truck was a quadruplex defiantly and Denise said the double was a single stick 10 speed with the spliter on top. They actually drove up 3 trucks from Sydney, Dennis drove two and Ralph drove the other. The first two trucks where on loan from Mack trucks, they where suppose to be used for transporting gear around and bring many of the vehicles up from Sydney. The borrowed trucks where the green r model (that would be later the double truck) and a green flintstone. Dennis and Ralph drove these up from Sydney together and then They flew back to Sydney to bring up the finished hero truck and tanker. On returning it was discovered the art department had gone to town on the borrowed mack. Even after Ralph and Dennis's grave concern over its new identity and the fact that it was borrowed the production department didn't really care. Apparently Ralph had a very interesting time when it was returned to Mack trucks lol.

Here is a photo of the double mack with 10 speed gearbox.

cheers

Oh yeah look at that! You would of never had seen it with the film rolling. Then only one of them was a quad box. This would explain when after Max started the truck and the next scene he stops at the top of the hill to look at his shot gun and takes off chirping the tires and going through the gears quick. Makes sense it was a ten or 12 speed.
